They took out a big ad in the F'fort paper a few days ago on this.

I'm having a hard time understanding the rationale. It's not like there's already stuff back there someone could mess up if they wanted to.

Ya know that is a good point. I have never heard of any vandalism or theft back there. I see a few nightcrawler brigade back there once and awhile that makes me take pause but most of the guys that fish there are good ole boys that wouldn't harm a thing..

Yeah, I've never ran into anyone back there causing any trouble...most of the boys dunkin crawlers in that stretch were fishing for the channel cats that are pretty plentiful back there.

Any way it could have anything to do with insurance/liability? Somebody walking through the hatchery falls into a pond and drowns or something? I dunno.

The only times I've ever used that access were for wade-fishing, either upstream or downstream from there a little ways. Bummer.

I am assuming it is just a safety issue while the construction for the expansion is going on.

Spoke to a friend in KDFWR. "Liability issue with people walking around back there and heavy equipment being operated."
