So this stud high school football player with scholarship offers from everyone goes to prison for rape. Ruining his chance at a free education and a possible shot to play in the NFL and then years later, the girl admits that it was all a lie! They should lock her away for the rest of her life, since she ruined this guys.

At the very minimum she and her family should have to return the 1.5 million they got from the school after they (of course) filed a lawsuit. She let the guy rot in jail for 6 years...what a money grubbing piece of excrement. So this stud high school football player with scholarship offers from everyone goes to prison for rape. 6 years of his life gone...but looking on the bright side maybe he can get a book deal out of it.
I don't know the stats on how often this happens with rape crimes or how this case unfolded but in the age of DNA testing how can this happen?
Bad advice from a lawyer. He was told to take the plea bargin cause the lawyer didn't think he would win the case and could end up with 20+ years in jail. Heard the story on NPR the other day. He never had sex with her, so it was all made up.
The girl and her family should have to pay back the $1.5 mil + interest and give him another $1.5 mil. She should also be doing time. I know she had to break a couple of laws at least. Sounds like she did it for the $$. Bunch of crap.
Andrew
Yep, probably bad legal advice, except that at least he plead no contest instead of guilty. That might come into play now or it may not; I don't know. And no question, in light of the fact the she's now admitting that they didn't even have intercourse, not only should they return the money, he should get a big settlement himself, PLUS she needs to be prosecuted for perjury, at the least. But (and maybe I'm reading between the lines a little), it sounds to me like he's got something lined up already:
"He is also working on a documentary about his life, according to his website. He said his family is "ear to ear with smiles.""
The girl and her family should have to give every last dollar of the money to that boy and his lawyer should have to match it.
Horrible story
