Is anyone on here a member of the NAFC? Preferably a fairly new member so that we can compare notes.

Not very often at all from what I just picked up on their forum. I just got off the phone with them regarding my print version of the magazine. Had to jump through hoops to get my membership extended to include my promised seven print versions.
However, they were quick enough to send me an unsolicited copy of a 15 year old book for the bargain price of $7. Granted, you have the option to return it but there was no mention of that occurring when they wanted me to subscribe.
I don't think I will be renewing when my annual subscription does run out.

I was a charter member (I think) way back when and didn't renew. Pretty much for the reasons you mentioned.
I had membership 10 years, never got first test product. No longer a member.
A scam from all I can tell. I sent the book back the day I got it after I looked online at all the negative feedback. I have received only one magazine.....I guess the free gifts are worth at least the 12 bucks I paid for the magazine.
RUN!!! I got almost all the books. They are a big scam. The test products were junk. Snelled worm hooks and snap swivels. Give me a break. Some of the hooks were broken when I got them. Oh yeah, don't use the line the send you either. It is garbage/defective. It is Trilene XT, but it snaps off lures when you cast.
I joined then years ago when I got back into fishing. I'll chime in and say it's mostly a scam too.
Yeh, I got some "lures". A couple of plastic worms and a pack of awful hooks.
Run,Forrest,Run!!!!
Yeah, mostly just a way to try to sell you something, but also a decent multi-species magazine. I sent their stuff back and told them not to ever send me anything I didn't ask for again. Still getting mail offers to buy this or that from time to time, but only that one time that I had to return something. Look into the Ky laws on them sending you items you haven't ordered. Think you might be surprised.
I received an e-mail from their customer support service telling me that they cancelled my original membership (with a digital magazine subscription) and set me up with a new subscription (with a print magazine). It will be interesting to see if they send me the same crappy floats and try to sell me another 15 year old book!
