If you're going to BLAST Romney about a foreign bank acct.........

If you're going to BLAST Mitt Romney because he has foreign investments, you BETTER dang be sure you don't have any yourself.

Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz was all over the Sunday programs BITCHING about Romney's foreign investments, and imagine that........SHE has foreign investments.......not only that, she also has one of those dreaded Swiss bank accounts.

My 401K, as well as another investment fund that I have started for my retirement and/or baby girl's college fund, has holdings in foreign companies..."international funds"...some are wise investments for the sake of return and making money. What's wrong with that?

    Big deal.

If Team Obama continues to make this a "let's bash Mitt because he's successful" campaign, I think it may end up a long day for them. So, obviously, I hope they continue.

On that note, discrimination works both ways.

How come, if I were to make the insinuation that Barack Obama is unfit to lead this country because he's black, I would be immediately pegged as a discriminatory biggot, tared, feathered, stoned, whatever....yet someone can make the insinuation all day long that Mitt Romney is somehow unfit to lead this country because he's wealthy/successful and that's perfectly OK media fodder?

Aren't they both forms of discrimination?

Romney's rich. Real rich. I mean, Richey Rich Rich, big pimpin, ballin out of control, poppin Crystal with his homies on a yacht rich. The dude probably sprinkles diamond dust on his cornflakes so that his dookie has a nice twinkle to it.

Now, so what? Good for him...

Its so sad that this country has been turned on its head so much by politicians that now we attack successful folks....have been for years. It's ok to have ties to Slumlords, terrorists, corruption, Muslims and racially charged churches but you better NOT MAKE MONEY!!!

The potus is still wanting to slam wealthy folks and not fix the real problems that his kind (politicians) caused. Why go after people who can hardly make a dent in fixing the problem? Go after the fools who caused it! Fix the problem stop trying to sway simple minds to your side. If this keeps up we are all in deep doo doo since there are only so many bandaids....at some point you have to fix whats causing the problem.

They spin this crap as he woke up one day and *poof* he had billions just because he's White or Mormon or whatever suits their smear campaign. The man worked for it. I really don't care what he has for money or where he stores it. I want to hear his plan for setting our country on the right course. I also hope he doesn't let the Liberal machine attack him and not fight back like McCain did. Its a fight and if you wanna win a fight you better be the meaner, tougher, smarter no holds barred son of a gun or you will lose.

    Can't argue with that.........

I've said it a billion times.......even a few times here. I'm not totally against taxes and gubment spending. I'm against STUPID taxes and STUPID gubment spending.

When someone, left or right comes up with a legitimate plan to cut some of the craziness......AND then come back and say "OK, after all the spending cuts, we still need X dollars", then and only then should be be talking about taxes.

    Instead, we talk TAXES first.

    Later,

    Geo

As much as I can't stand Obama or this Debbie Wasserman Schultz woman for that matter, I think this is a big swing and miss by the conservative news sources. IMO there are so many legitimate criticism that can be made against the current liberal agenda why even bother with these types of stories.

As much as I would love to agree, IMHO it is apples and oranges. She was criticizing and questioning Romney for setting up tax shelters in places like the Cayman islands or using Swiss accounts. Comparing that to a person investing in a mutual fun or 401 retirement fund that diversifies by investing in some legitimate foreign businesses is just silly. Completely different animal.

Sorry I just don't see the outrage, and to be honest, I think it is a fair question to ask of anyone running for office to ask if they have set up tax havens in other countries with the sole purpose of avoiding paying taxes in this country.

God help this country if we have gotten to the point where we don't choose to hold accountable those running for, or are in office just because they are on our side of the political debate.

Obama and the socialistic agenda should be defeated, no needs to be defeated this coming election. I just hope those behind the conservative talking points stick to the real issues, and don't lead us down too many rabbit holes just looking for something to be outraged about.

Want to read some really funny Obama campaign irony?

“When Barack Obama got the keys to the bus it was trapped in the ditch with three flat tires. We've changed the tires, we've pulled the bus out of the ditch, and we’re starting up the road to strengthening the middle class," Gibbs said this morning.

"There's a different theory. Mitt Romney wants to take that bus -- probably a bus made in Switzerland or Bermuda -- and he wants to turn that bus around, he wants to pick up some millionaires and billionaires and shower them with cash," he said.
-Robert Gibs on MSNBC (emphasis is mine)

Here is a quote from an old article about Obama's campaign bus:
The contract lists the country of origin as Canada and place of manufacture as "outside U.S. - Trade Agreements," a possible reference to the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Once again, you've gone off half-cocked, without checking facts, or even really reading the link you yourself posted. If you had, you would see that it does NOT say that Wassername - er, Wasserman, has a Swiss bank account. It says that she invests in a 401k that has holdings in foreign banks, including Swiss banks. And the "bitching" about Romney's foreign holdings isn't so much his investments. After all, anyone with a diverse portfolio probably has some foreign holdings (are YOU in Artisan International? I am). It's about the $$ he has HIDDEN in offshore accounts, not just Swiss accounts, but also in the Cayman Islands.

I think SLP is being charitable when he calls this a "swing and a miss." I call it slander. Whoever wrote it KNEW they were manipulating the facts.

Gee thanks for the link to the definition of hypocrisy. I'm sure we all needed that.
