Democrats pander to big inner cities and populous states. With the exception of Tx and Fl, they don't really care about the states you mention. California and New York are shining examples of Democrat strongholds. Both very liberal. Both with severe budget problems and sky high taxes. Both have a lot of electoral votes.
Funny that the examples of New York and California are not on the list. California's state GDP exceeds many developed countries and New York has been the financial capitol of the world for the past 100+ years. California has had a Republican Governer for the past 12 years or so, so I don't think the Cailfornia debt can be hung on Democrats there. Same for New York.

Alabama and Mississippi are good examples of corporate pandering. Filled with refineries and oil production yet on the bottom of the list for wages.

I just think that there has to be middle ground. I don't want KY to be on those lists. Time to buckle up and pay this nationl debt off and this will require everyone paying their fair share.

A lot of manufactoring is going to and has returned to the US because they have found that there is no reliable infastructure in these offshore sites, the political proceesses overseas can be so corrupt they cannot be relied on. They have found that even with a wage of 20¢ an hour does not make up for utility costs, shipping and other factors.

I just wish more people here would start supporting the USA.

With regards to California.......Have they ever had a republican lead majority in their house or senate.

I looked and it seems they are both SQUARELY Democrat. So, even with a republican governor, if you cannot control the house and senate you cannot control ANYTHING.

    Later,
