    Trout in the salt river

So i took my girlfriend out fishing today below taylorsville lake. I was just expecting to catch some bluegill but we ended pulling in some nice rainbow trout we probably caught 10 a piece. Apparently the dfw stocked about 500 hundred below the ****. Im not complaining or anything but i thought this was kind of odd in a place like taylorsville. what will the dfwr think of next?

Hmm, I didn't know they were stocking them there. I always wondered why they didn't. I would think they'd do well there. That water stays cold there. Maybe they've just expanded them there. I know they're putting them in Floyds Fork now twice a year.

Wonderful idea getting your girlfriend out fishing with you during this glorious "Indian summer" we are blessed with and please be a better friend and not unwittingly put your girlfriend in an uncompromising situation. i.e. trout stamp and trout possession limits

I was getting ready to post the limit was 10, but man, I'm WRONG.........I'm glad I looked.

    the statewide limit is 8.

When the state puts "magic" rules on places like cumberland, like the 10 fish limit this summer due to the water, it confuses the matter .

    Later,

    Geo

As long as you're not keeping them, you don't need the stamp. Except on the Cumberland below Wolf Creek Dam. Everyone needs one there.

If you're fishing in the little FINS lakes the limit on trout is 5.
