    Wink The "Gold" mining continues!

With the abundant sunshine today I decided to take advantage of it! Found numerous fish, but they were stubborn today. They were mudding and tailing pretty consistent, but for the life of me I couldn't get them to eat!

Changed up the fly, but still no connections. Went back to the Olive Backstabber and finally connected on a couple of fish.

Today there were hundreds and hundreds of Sandhill Cranes on the Lake which was a cool sight! The other day I had friend keep an eye on me while I was scouting some new water on the lake. He let me troll right over and get a bunch of pics of him before he took off! Awesome bird!

    Great pics

Glad you hooked up with a couple. Those fish remind me of the gulf, the difference was they were drum, the black and red ones.No spectacular jumps, but the same high speed runs when they were hooked. Monday evening was walking the pooch and saw three huge flocks of sand hills, maybe a thousand in total. Have only seen one eagle this year, last year there was a flock below barren dam. A lot of guys wont delibertly fish carp, but the summers on lake michigans warm water discharges, were a lot of fun on small white jigs. Are you using a salt water fly rod?

Thanks kygorski! Good talking to you at the ramp! They tail just like a Redfish and you're right... A good tug of war!

Since I saltwater fish a lot I'm using my Redfish rods in 7wt and 8wt, but you could work these dudes with a 5/6wt or Bass setup!
