Cats lose to Baylor at Rupp

Wow...just wow. Cal's first loss in Rupp comes in his 4th Season to a Bryce Drew coached team. Good Lord. Our team is definitely out of kilter right now. They are playing slow, sloppy, stupid, and totally uninspired.

I knew we would take some lumps this year and not be as good as the special squad we had last year, but still wow...

And Louisville is losing at home to Illinois State in the 2nd Half.

    WTF?

We watched it at home and all of us had comments on what was wrong. It was kinda sad to watch when you knew a home win record was on the line. Maybe these guys will wake up and start playing like a team wanting to win instead of individuals not wanting to lose.
Many times I was actually talking to the tv when I watched guys not looking up for fast breaks or putting up soft finesse shots. These guys should be slamming and jamming the ball and running fast breaks like mad!!!
I also don't think the fall from grace is over. I see this team being a top 25 team but more like a 18-23 ranked team. Heck will Tubby have his team ranked better than UK?? I know it's early and the easy thing to say is that Cal will have them ready for the dance but he has ALOT of work to do.

    KARMA baby.........

If Calamari had not screwed with the UK/Indiana schedule, and not been such a crybaby, they might have had a chance to beat Indiana ...UNLIKELY, but might have. Instead a NONAME Baylor team comes into Rupp and KICKS your BUTT.

    hahahahahahahahahahha.

My wife told me folks were lined up on the second street bridge throwing the I love UK and Calamari shirts in the river......

I cannot wait for the FIRE CALAMARI websites.

    Later,

    Geo

I wouldn't exactly call Baylor a no-name, but they did kick our butts.

I hate not playing Indiana - That *****.

We'll see how it all turns out this year, next year, year after that...

Got to throw my 2 cents worth in. I hate to lose as much as anybody and really hated to drop that Rupp win streak. With that being said I wish the "true blue" fans and "big blue nation" would get a grip and stop bashing the players. These are kids that have never played together before and they will come together soon I'm sure. Hang in there #bbn and in the mean time would somebody raise the fences on the bridges.

I watched the last two games and came away thinking it's a coaching issue.

I think the talent is there to be top 10, but Cal's going to have to man up and start coaching these kids.

I was waiting on someone to throw this out there... Calipari is the best recruiter in all of D1 basketball but would rank about 35 to 50 as the best actual X's and O's coach. When given so so players in the past he has proven his lack of coaching ability. He now has Freshmen playing like freshmen and Eraser head is the most overrated big man in all college ball this year. Harrow is a head case and Wiltcher was awesome surrounded by 5 NBA players, now not so much.

They will be a tough out in a month or so though and Baylor is a darn good team. Calipari has to actually coach this year, we'll see how it goes...

I thought the year Cal had Wall, Cousins, etc. he didn't do much of a coaching job at all....He had the best talent in the country and could only manage an Elite 8

The year he had Brandon Knight and Jorts, I thought he did a masterful job of coaching....Not nearly as much talent as he was accustomed to having, and still put them in the Final 4

Last year, I think I could have probably coached that team to the national title, with MHall and Geo as my assistants

This year he's going to have to completely turn this team around, they're not very good and heading in the wrong direction fast.....On top of losing games, I think they've lost their confidence....He needs to start by teaching them defense and most importantly rebounding, or things will get really ugly this season...If things don't get any better I'll still be watching every game, just like I do in football, and rooting for the Cats and be glad that theres always next year
