i got a new nav card for christmas , can i put it in my humminbird 898c and run with it, or do i need to update it before use ?

I'd register and update the card.......that way if you EVER have issues with the card, they know when you purchased and have a record of it.

It is an easy process, but requires a decent net connection and will take a while. Also, the update is about 2gb.
