Democrats, tea party unite vs. Mitch McConnel

    Interesting Development

By MANU RAJU | 1/28/13 4:41 AM EST

Tea party activists looking to oust Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in a GOP primary may get some help from an unlikely source: Democrats.
Big Democratic donors, local liberal activists and a left-leaning super PAC in Kentucky are telling tea partiers that they are poised to throw financial and organizational support behind a right-wing candidate should one try to defeat the powerful GOP leader in a 2014 primary fight.

Politics in this country have just become completely ridiculous.

Instead of being about trying to advance the ideals of your constituents, it's basically now just about winning an office so you can fat off the spoils.

These candidates and those that back them don't stand up for what they believe in....unless they just believe in winning an office.

    I hate it.

I don't like the political atmosphere at this point either. Heck I'm not sure I can say I "liked" it anyway. The thing that concerns me here is that Mitch isn't any worse than Pelosi or Reid but for some reason the left wants Mitch out? He must be a major threat to them. Now I voted against him and have written several letters telling him what I thought of his decisions and i don't think men and women should be able to stay in office for 20 years but....something stinks here. Anytime in life that your opponent/enemy/whatever goes around and tries to rally people against you like this means your a threat to them. As much as I dislike Mitch's opinion on things in the past if I had to vote today I would be inclined to vote for him unless his opponent was squeaky clean and had some deeply rooted conservative ideals. I just don't trust politicians and I really don't trust the left.

The reason they want him gone is his power Don. He is a major whistle blower against Obama. Obama doesn't walk right according To Mitch and for that I will continue to vote for him. He has voted AGAINST any and ALL dumb liberal crap started by the present administration of misfits.

Has he been in there to long.................Yes...But is he still continuing to try and fight the idiots..Yes he is...
Now that blathering, stammering moron John ''CaptainLiberal'' Yarmoth is even trying the UK fan angle again. trying to get Ashley Judd to run against Mitch so he can be overthroned I think was one term used, lol.
Ashley frickin Judd, what in Sam Hills 40 acres does that woman know about politics...Here I'll tell ya, about as much as Richie Farmer did, LOL. He took everything that wasn't tied down in Frankfort, LOL.

Mitch sways alot of votes from far left to middle and even right sometimes also.

OK that explains why the Democrats don't like him. Why doesn't the Tea Party like him?

Courier-Journal Bluegrass Poll: U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell has twice as many opponents as backers among voters

    Jan. 28, 2013 12:06 PM
Comments in today article from Courier Journal:
"Meanwhile, a group of 17 tea parties from across the state says it is actively recruiting someone to challenge McConnell in the primary and that its top goal is to retire McConnell. The group charges that the senator has supported debt-ridden budgets and profligate spending throughout his career."

Personally, I believe this is going to be an interesting one to watch and see how it develops.

I can promise you this I will not vote for Ashley Judd. There is nothing in her past that gets close to her being qualified. I would vote for several people on this site before I even considered her. I'm sorry, I'm against these life long politicians but I'm even more against Hollywood elite folks who are bored with their lives. Let her run for a local office first and see how she does.

I have to agree. Much as I'd love to ditch Mitch, we need to replace him with someone who has given SOME indication that they might be qualified.

Actually, I would be happy if all three got tossed out on their butts during their next run.
