I'm glad you got the boat back but it's a shame they trashed it. My Dad always said a boat was a big hole in the water that you throw money into.

    theft

Sawinlog I had my fishing equipment stolen from my boat on a fishing trip. It was easy remembering the rods and reels but I had to list all the tackle that was gone from memory. I was very lucky I listed everything I could remember and priced it out of Bass Pro, I had replacement insurance I sent them the itemized statement with the police report and they sent me a check. Through out the year I would go to get a certain bait and could not find it and realized I did not turn it in and it was gone.

I know what you are going through and I feel for you.

Good time to go take pictures

I guess this is a good reminder, to go out and take pictures of all your stuff.

Insurance companies, at least the ones I've dealt with have no problem with replacing your stolen stuff, but most require some type of proof.

Crack open your tackle boxes, take pictures. Put all your rods and reels up on the deck, take pictures. THAT should be enough to give you a start....

Once you have a visual reference, most any of us could go through and count 25 strike king cranks, or 18 red eye shads, or 10 sexy spoons........whatever.

While you're at it........go through your house and and generate a video and store it on a sim card on your camera. PUT that sim card somewhere where it will not burn down

    Later,

    Geo

I am very sorry to hear about your ordeal. Hopefully the damage to the boat is minor.

    Good advice Geo!

I keep an inventory of my boat contents and my rods and reels in an Excel spreadsheet. If anyone wants a copy of the form, I'll share that, either as an Excel file or, I can change it into just a Word form you can printout and fill in. Just PM me if you want a copy , and give me an email address to send it to.

Quicken offers an inventory program for home contents that can be used for a boat. Nice thing is it allows you to list the equipment, then upload pictures associated with the listing you made.

Microsoft Excel Inventory form template can be downloaded from : Home contents inventory list - Templates - Office.com

It's money well spent though. If God made anything better than fishing he must have kept it for himself. Well, maybe there's one exception.

Terrible thing to hear happen. I hope that there was no damage physically to the boat where it wont float.

Either way sweetwater, you still smell like fish afterwards!

Trash fish? Are those the one's that smoke, swear, drink too much and can be picked up only at Red Lobster? I guess there's no creel limit on trash fish. As long as you catch and release them and don't publicize it.

....oh, that's why they call it bottom fishing right?
