Hey, if your comfortable, let us know how you come out with the insurance company after its all said and done. It would benefit all to have a feel for the impacts if something like this happens. I hope the insurance folks take good care of you.The Brooksville Sheriff Department was called by a farmer out on some county road and reported my boat along the road with a flat tire. The sherif called me about 5 yesterday to come and get it talk about an someone happy. They told me a flat and missing tire was all that was wrong with it. When I got there I found the cover put on wrong and then my heart hit the ground again. The lousy ******** wiped it out and stripped her down. Took about everything they could take off quick looked as thou things that are gone all could be done with a screw driver or knife. Does anyone have a clue how much the average bass fisherman has in tackle costs. I have been going over and over tring to remember everything that was in it. I never added up how much money I had in tackle before it is a little scarey how much money it costs to catch a few fish. I guess its true that if you play you pay. Thanks everyone for your concerns. I have been very sick dealing with this nightmare. I would like to give some advice to all and that is to take pictures of everything in your boat and keep it in a file just in case because it is very hard to remeber and then to proove you had it. I have bought so much stuff at yardsales and such that I will never be able to prove what I had.
Try this, go back thru all your old fishing pictures you got. You may find pics of you holding that prize bass with your tackle box, or fishfinder, or trolling motor in the background. All old boat pictures too. Ask your freinds for any picts they took while on a trip on your boat. Any boat repair receipts might help. You might also want to contact BassPro or Cabela's, who ever you have bought from in the last say 2 years, and ask them if they can pull up an order history for you, by name and shipping address, and showing what you ordered. I know this won't cover everything, but it may help a little. Credit card statements can help too, as while it doesn't say specifically what was bought, it can help show buying at sporting goods stores. Just trying to help and wish I could do more. Best regards and best success.
You're right on all counts. I'll add to that you have to be very careful while bottom fishing or you'll catch more than you than you want. You would not want to take some of the things you can catch home to your wife.Trash fish? Are those the one's that smoke, swear, drink too much and can be picked up only at Red Lobster? I guess there's no creel limit on trash fish. As long as you catch and release them and don't publicize it.
....oh, that's why they call it bottom fishing right?
Thanks for the ideas and concerns everyone.
