On wave3 news they were showing about 1.5" in the lakes area but I think they may have gotten even more south (upstream). The lakes are already at summer pool and with the rain should be rising at least a little which should open up most of the flats in the bays. Front may push them back to the deeper water in bays but you will just have to gauge. I'll be down myself Saturday / Sunday. Drop me a line if you would like to compare notes. I will probably hit Barkley Saturday morning and KY later in the day. Sunday whichever we liked best. Smallies and crappies ought to be right...

Well how was the weekend? Heading down tomorrow after work for a week.
Anything we might want to know before we arrive?
Geo, you're heading south and I'm headed northwest. Going to give another try at Patoka.
Will do. I'll post on the Indiana Board. I've got a sense of dread that it won't be a positive post, but I'll post our results and techniques late tomorrow evening.
At least I won't be like a lot of others here on fishin.com, I'll be FISHING NOT WORKING!!![]()
Nothing like water in the trees...............WOW.
We flipped tubes and ran traps most of the weekend. POUNDED the fish.........
15 or so and 17lbs of Fish on Friday......all in a really shallow bay on North KY.........4 or 5 ft of water.......only fished for 3 hrs.
30 or so and 15 lbs of Fish on Saturday.......again, really shallow....North Barkely
35 or so and 15 lbs of Fish on Sunday.......again, really, really shallow. North Barkley.....
35 or so and 15 lbs of Fish on Monday (Today). Left the water at noon.
Almost all the shallow fish came on tubes.
Have fun, and BE CAREFUL.......south winds are hell.

Thanks For the info. We are about 3 hours out right now. Were you catching largemouth or Smallmouth?
Has anyone had any luck with bigger fish on top water?
