Do anyone know who can build a custom rod. I am wanting to try some of the mhx rods.

I've built a couple of rods on their blanks. Seems to be good blanks. Mudhole.com also sells the mhx blanks as kits if you wanted to try building one yourself.

I have built several MHX blanks. Spinning, flipping and cb rods. Mudhole MHX blanks are nice blanks. I live in No Ky area. They are pretty easy to build. Measuring is a key. If you go to their website they have some rodbuilding videos which are very helpful. Ask for a free catalog. Good info there too.

If you had rather have some one do it, Cris Newkirk, known as "the Ledgend" on here builds rods. I've seen several he built, and he re-did one of my old rods, and he does really great work. honest and dependable too.... TR

As others have indicated, not too hard. You can use the tutorials online to get the basic set up. Test cast with the reel you intend to use and tweak from there.

The MHX blanks are great rod for the money and have a lifetime breakage warranty. If you want a truly awesome rod go with one of the MHX "high modulus" models. They are very light and sensitive. I'd put them up against almost any other blank on the custom or factory market. You can't go wrong with their quality for the money.
