So I'm moving into my first house in 3 weeks and its only ten minutes from guist creek! So needless to say I'll most likely be there on a weekly basis. From the threads I've read on here I can see its a tough lake to fish but I've also heard there's some big bass in there. Any advice on how to fish that lake? Any techniques better than others? Thanks
It's a good winter time lake. It gets lots of pressure but there aren't a lot of structure fishermen. So I'm moving into my first house in 3 weeks and its only ten minutes from guist creek! Thanks guys
Good luck! My experience with Guist is that it can be freaky good and the opposite. Just a weird lake, I don't know why, maybe all the pressure. Largest bass I've seen out of there was 9+. And caught at night. On a jig. In February. :-\
Are there any smallies left in there? My dad caught one a little over 3 lbs back in the 90's. he said a guy that lived on the lake used to bring them from dale in the winter and put then in there.
I know a guy who didn't live on the lake, but he did the same thing. There probably are a few but I would think Guist is a little too eutrophic to support large populations of smallies.
