he is right, the food stamp program, is funded through the recovery act. and is good for another year. and I to agree, it's good to know that small children will have food to eat. even if they have a mom and dad that is to lazy, or disable to work.

We can send billions to foreign aid as well. I bet potus and Congress and the potus still get paid. This is yet another example of what's coming with the obamacare problem. If the gubment needs more money....we know they will...they will threaten a shutdown or other programs to be reduced to pay for this turd of an idea.

I don't know how the program is funded but Im willing to bet many children go hungry right now and they have crackhead parents who don't do what they are supposed to so with the handout.

Any threat to not paying the military does piss me off. They have kids, they have families that need true income, bills just like everyone else. Then add on top of that the fact that you are gubment property during your time enlisted and a threat of nonpayment for services rendered is Bull!!! Especially if some crackhead can get paid welfare or food stamps or get a handout.

Maybe we need a special mitary comprised of able bodies welfare and food stamp recipient? Let them go fight wars and secure the border. We can bring the others home.

    FYI

he military will be paid!!But heres a hard pill to swallow. ITS A VOLENTEER MILITARY. I was enlisted, I may have been drafted later or not. I don't know about you, you were also enlisted, but remember, when you had a bitch, the " ole good sergeant would say" YOU ASKED FOR IT. I'm proud of my service, my step dad was career, he was proud of his service also. He went in the service in the mid 20s That's 1920's. He said he was lucky to get in. I contribute to a lot of bonafide veterans support groups.Have grandson who,s still serving. BUT They asked for it!

THE FACT THAT WE ARE HERE TODAY TO DEBATE RAISING AMERICA'S DEBT LIMIT IS A SIGN OF LEADERSHIP FAILURE.IT IS A SIGN THAT THE US GOVERNMENT CANNOT PAY IT'S OWN BILLS.IT IS A SIGN THAT WE NOW DEPEND ON ONGOING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES TO FINANCE OUR GOVERNMENTS RECKLESS FISCAL POLICIES. INCREASING AMERICA'S DEBT WEAKENS US DOMESTICALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY.LEADERSHIP MEANS," THE BUCK STOPS HERE" INSTEAD WASHINGTON IS SHIFTING THE BURDEN OF BAD CHOICES TODAY ONTO THE BACKS OF OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN. I don't remember what I signed but If I'm not mistaken they told me how much I would get paid and with each promotion I was also told I would get paid a certain amount. I don't see how volunteering is an issue? Congress and potus is a volunteer job as well. Maybe in fine print they have something that says we pay if we want??? Doubtful.
