I might be an idiot too, but I'm not admitting to that.

YOU don't storm the court for a win over the #3 team .
ACT like you BELONG here, and it is a common thing to win BIG GAMES.
They could take a page from a REAL program ...........
GAWD.

Geo i was on my way over here to post somethin about it for ya, but you beat me to it. Its ridiculous. If youre a mid major and knock off the #3 team, storm the court. If you want to be recognized as one of the "storied" universities, dont do it. I did see something funny earlier. IU under Tom Crean

**** Shame Indiana and KY will no longer play. For years, Indiana had a down/horrible program. They are much better over the past few years, and I think it would have been a pretty good home and away.Geo i was on my way over here to post somethin about it for ya, but you beat me to it. I wish UK had gotten off their high horse and just played IU at Assembly Hall. A great rivalry that shouldnt have ended.
If it makes you feel any better about being an idiot IU fan, i just had a fellow UK fan on facebook say the flagrant 1 call was "retardit"
I watched tha game and that was a huge win. However I looked at my wife afterwards and said OMG I can not believe Indiana fans are storming the court. Bobby Knight probably became ill last night. I know Crean didn't want that either but it is what it is. Huge win for Indiana and I personally feel Wisconsin and Arizona and maybe Syracuse are the best teams in the nation right now. In fact from an X's and O's, shooting and quality of play before last night's game I felt Wisconsin was as good as there was right now.
Anybody can be beat..............Anybody, great win and well deserved those kids earned that one.
Glad to see you say this. They aren't doing themselves any favors by continually storming the court. I wouldn't be surprised to see the NCAA try and do something about it. It's becoming unsafe for teams ranked in the top 10 to come in there and play.
Keep in mind it is college basket ball a lot of emotions from the students this does not bother me nearly as bad as a professional football player who is paid millions do a celebration like it is the first time he has ever scored a touch down. Like Geo said act like you have been there before. What is professional about that???
Don't know about everyone else but I'll admit to using poor judgement during my COLLEGE YEARS! I wouldn't storm the court now - but then?
This seems to be mostly fueled by Cal because of the "poor treatment" the Cats got the last time he was in Bloomington - but when it comes down to it those college kids don't care what any of us think - let kids be kids . . .
I thought Indiana already was a Mid-Major in Basketball.
Hard to argue with this.^^^ I think its kinda silly but a lot of what college kids do is silly to older adults. I didn't go to college but I know it wouldn't have taken much to get me to storm the court.Don't know about everyone else but I'll admit to using poor judgement during my COLLEGE YEARS! The high horse of UK and it's fans is what sours people about UK basketball. I love the sport and enjoy UK ball but some of the bull that comes from UK makes me shake my head.
I agree that Storming the court is dangerous to players, coaches, media, security, cheering and whoever is down there. Acting like UK is a High and mighty program because of the wins and history is silly. Does UK not have any scandals? Ever? To me there are no high roads in college sports. The amount of back door dealings, cheating, adultery or what have you in any program is overlooked because of the history? Or because the coach is good and will get/keep us winning?
So we take UK sports in general and dissect the part that is men's basketball out and say when you kids who come to other UK sports games.....go to Rupp you better not storm the court like you do the football field because we are UK and above the childish actions of storming the basketball court? Really? Because of tradition all these kids know not to do that? I think it's prolly more like they are told not to or else and it has more to do about some fake image of being better than others. I guess what I'm saying is it must be the law at UK for the image but in reality the kids want to and one day I think they will.
Before any UK zombies freak out......it's just an opinion and I really could care less what image UK has. I enjoy the games, players and the whole experience of March Madness. I just have a hard time with the hypocrisy of the program. Tubby needed to go but was a good coach and black. The black part was always an issue to some UK fans. Pitino left had issues in the NBA and at UL but if he would come back tomorrow a lot of fans would take him. Not exactly what I would call an above the board program....it's more like win at any cost program......and I think all of them are like that! I still love the game but I'm not blinded by rhetoric.
Just curious....when Indiana had Bobby Knight did anyone ever storm the court? I have no idea but was just wondering. How about UCLA, Duke, Kansas or North Carolina? Just wondering how they do with big wins.
Sorry George for getting so far off course from your original topic on Indiana.
I'm a UK fan, as are many people i know, and not one single person had a problem with Tubby because he was black. Tubby was a pretty good coach and a really good person. I hated to see him go because he was a great teacher to the kids coming through the program, but hos style of play and lack of postseason success (except with Ricks team) meant that it was time for a change whether he was white, black, mexican, or asian. Any top tier program would have had to make the same decision regardless of if their fanbase was stereotyped as "racists" or not. Im sure that after 2 years of Billy G every single UK fan would have loved to have Tubby back.
As far as Rick coming back nope, no way, nada would he be accepted back as a coach. I dont blame him for leaving for the money of the NBA, I dont blame him for taking a pretty attractive UL job, but theres no way we'd want him back on our sidelines
