Glad you had fun looks like some nice fish. I'm trying to plan a trip to Barkley with a friend probably either the second or third week in April. I hope the fishing will be good, he will be driving about seven hours to meet me there.

Nice fish Geo...glad that tip about slowing the crankbait down and stop and go retrieve worked for you.

That is without a doubt the UGLIEST Guy holding up a Bass that I have ever seen. Good grief George , just when I thought you were about as UGLY a man that I ever met last year, you go and do it up better
Those pictures of that Eagle are great! How close were you able to get to it?
Geo, our club fished New Johnsonville, TN Mar 1st and 2nd. Saturday was nice, but Sunday turned nasty in a hurry, and we stopped before lunch.
First place was over 40lbs. Me with one that went 5.45. The guys who won holding up 23 lbs. My partner holding part of an 18lb limit. Notice the bruiser in the tank he just got those 2 out of.
Crank baits.

40 lbs for a 5 fish limit?
I really need to get down south sometime..........but I honestly love the northern areas, and have not taken time to research too much past 68/80. Maybe one of these days. Heck, I might purchase down there, since the costs for property further south on KY and Barkley are much, MUCH better. Close to 50% better.

Glad you had a pretty decent trip on the big lakes and I sure liked seeing some of those brown fish mixed in. Pretty telling with the snow still on the ground in the background of your pictures with old man winter finger prints all over. But it should get better every week from here. When you mentioned catching them shallow -- I have caught them in 1 to 2 feet of water at times on sunny gravel banks this time of year. The pause is crucial but it blows my mind sometimes how shallow they will go I have caught big fish that way not just small to mids. Also KY usually warms up quicker as it flows from the south. Kind of odd in that the main lake often warms up before the bays in late winter so you have to be aware of where the warmth is (or is not). Look forward to giving it a shot myself maybe this coming weekend will work out.
Over and out...

2 Limits, 22+lbs Sat and 19 Sunday. You won't sniff a check against the locals down there with either of those bags though. Killer bass fishing down there for sure. That is nice.............
