Green River muskie end of May/early June

I am a northern fisherman. Go up to Canada every year to fish for Northerns.. I live in KY and want to try out the Muskies down here. was planning on going this weekend to try for some Musky.. Any suggestions on where they are during this time of year? Any advice is welcome.

You might do better at Cave Run. With this rain we are getting this week it should help turn them on. hit the weedbeds on Zilpo flats with bulldawgs and double bladed inlines (Bluegrass Beast by Grimm Reaper Lures) and fish them slow and work the weed edges. you should get some action.

Sorry it took so long to respond. Thank you for the info. we went to Green River Lake because it is closer and didnt have a full day to fish. Are the muskie running in the deeper waters during the hotter days of summer or are places like robinson creek still a good place to try? we didnt catch any muskie. Caught a few bass and bluegill. We realy have no idea how to muskie fish in the lake. we have always fished for Pike in the St. Lawerance river. Much easier to locate where they are. lol

I'm not a muskie angler at all and I consider them a nuisance at times. With that said I pick up a muskie pretty much on a regular basis while bass fishing at green. I would speculate that since bass and muskie are both top rung predators and they share many of the same types of forage it would make sense that they would be in the same areas at a given time of the year. The muskie in green will attack a spinnerbait with a vengeance year round and large crankbaits almost the same. Plan to be on green in October and fish a spinnerbait in the coves where shad are schooling and you'll get bit.
