Just good 'ol river foam
My family has some property in Bethlehem IN. and the water up there is five times cleaner than water around the downtown area. You absolutely do not see foam slicks like that up there. I've got more pics of those slicks and they appear to be coming from the lower dam and then separating from the currents.
I told my wife it's probably fuel or oil in the water, and it's a fair amount. The river should be much cleaner, no excuses.
sewage pure sewage if the truth be known MSD probably accidentally open the poop valve they have that lets out raw sewage ..
If fish dont go near the foam why have i caught white bass in the jumps right in the middle of the foam on the ky river and even caught multiple crappie below the dam in stoner under foam? Ive never heard the foam thing
I agree that the river could be cleaner, back if the 70's it was real bad! If the river is so polluted could it suport it's smallmouth population?
That foam go home is just something that a friend and I made up and used to joke about down at Mcalpine. When there was a bunch of approx 5" tall whitish sort of soapy smelling foam all over the place in the turbine area we never saw a fish. It was probably ten years ago. It was just our experience with that type of foam at that time and place.
There are folks that know a lot more about fishing Mcalpine and foam than I do.
