    Patoka Walleye

My second question of the day; anyone ever catch any walleye at Patoka? I have never fished for walleye in Indiana, and only fished for them once on Cumberland. I'm heading that way for a week's vacation the week of the 22nd, and I'd love to get my nephews into some bass, walleyes, catfish, or just about any decent sized fish that might bite. I would never keep a bass to eat, but we might keep a few catfish or walleye. If you're willing to share some info pm me. I'd be willing to give away a few Kentucky Lake hotspots for info that actually helped.

NO one will tell you about walleye, but they are there. I've caught a few, but don't fish patoka very much.

I know a bunch of folks who catch them accidentally, while fishing for bass.

Might be tough to locate them midday with the water warming up but I would try the islands and main lake points in the middle of the lake at night or right at first light. There are an abundance of shad holding up in these areas come summertime, you can catch just about anything around those islands. There are some decent main lake flats in that general area as well.

This map pretty much shows the deal.

    Will no
one tell me anything because no one knows, or because people just don't share info? I have 15 waypoints for KY Lake that I'll share, and all 15 have had tournaments won right off of them. Shame people are so selfish.

I think with the number of lakes in Indiana and the tournamment pressure they get, noone wants to give up any info. I am with the other guy and would fish the islands out on the main lake. Plenty of grass and if you are good with electronics, alot of ditches and ledges. Good luck. Also heard a pop R is doing well early.

The Pop-R is catching walleye or bass? I understand not giving up too much info on bass fishing, but I haven't heard of many if any people focusing on walleye at Patoka. Even the 2 or 3 guides on the lake say next to nothing about them. There have to be hundreds of thousands if not millions of them in the water.

What you need to do is find a crankbait that will just tickle the grass in about 2-5 foot range, i have caught several walleye doing this . stay on main lake areas, points and fish out to where the grass is submerged in that depth.
