I've never pulled a uni out............maybe wrap it a few more times.

Another good not is the blood knot. Very similar to the uni..........

I always use double UNI or UNI to UNI knot on braid to flouro. I usually wrap 5 or 6 times on each UNI.

You might also consider tying a simple overhand knot in the tag ends of each line ... so that when the knot is tightened down, it can only slip until it reaches that overhand knot.

I use the overhand knot on braid (especially brand new braid) when tying it to my lures. I use the Improved Clinch knot and tie directly to the lure ... and the overhand knot keeps the Improved Clinch from slipping open.

The only place I would use the uni to uni is where your braid meets the mono backing on your reels. For leader to mainline knots you should be using the Bristol Knot or the Yucatan Knot. Tuna fishermen are known to love the Yucatan Knot, that should tell you something.

I catfish for the big ones and I prefer the Bristol or Yucatan...you have to tie either a Spider hitch or double overhand surgeon's knot in the main line and then attach your leader to the loop you created. For attaching bass lures to the leader, try the Tuna Knot...it's great.

I use a modified Albright. It's easy to tie and has worked well for braid to flourocarbon

Yep I use the blood knot on tying lines together all the time. Works great and have even had that knot off the spool and out of the eyes of the rod while fighting fish. It has never failed me.

Google slim beauty. Have used that knot for saltwater and freshwater flouro leaders with great success. Very small and can pass easily through rod guides.

    Double Uni

Double Uni is defiantly the way to go when it comes to tying braid to fluro and believe me the line will break before the knot will.
