... I will say that if we had left just a few of our military in Iraq there wouldn't be the turmoil we have now. Just a few soldiers would let everyone over there know that we had an interest in Peace and would do anything to preserve it. BO gave a different impression to those bad guys over there.

So you are saying that Bush made a mistake in 2008 when he set the 2011 timetable for the US being out of Iraq? I believe he wanted to keep a few troops around, but the Iragis were against any American presence there.

I don't particularly like either Bush or Obama. Some of what Bush did I can appreciate. Same for Obama. As I have said here on a number of occasions, both will go down in history as weak presidents who served during trying times. Unlike you, I can see both the good and bad in both and am not so blinded as to only finding fault in one of them.

I will say that W wanted to leave a residual force in Iraq but Maliki balked. BO never sounded like he wanted to have any Americans left there even though he had the same problem with Maliki that W had.

Now even John McCain says that the evidence that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction was "VERY FLIMSY".

I don't care what you all say the war in Iraq was a Mistake and a Big Mistake made by the GOP and Bush.

You can bash people all you want but it won't change the facts! I think that most neutral people now see that there was a huge mistake going into Iraq.

Lugar, McCain and Bush Senior all said not to go into Iraq but Little Bush didn't listen to his elders.

The mistake is still a problem today with all the fighting in Iraq today. Once you stir up the Hornets next and take out the leader it's expected that the remaining hornets are going to swarm and attack everything in sight.

All Bush Jr did was stir up the Hornets next in the Middle East. He should have figured out that after three or more Crusades in to the Middle East by the Western Powers that it was not wise to repeat their many mistakes.

And furthermore. I do think that what Joe Biden said should have been taken more seriously. They should divide up Iraq into three sectors. Give the Sunni's one section, the Shia one and the Kurds the last one. That makes more sence than trying to combine them all into one country when they have been fighting each other for thousands of years.
