The reality is, it isn't the organizations fault. It is the individual fishermen who need to learn to care for their fish better. This has gone on, on KY Lake for years and the fishery seems to be as good as it ever has been.
it may seem as good....now....how about in another 40 years when our youngsters are fishing? As far as the organization goes.....it is on them. Knowing the conditions they should have taken the opportunity to "teach" those individuals who did not know. They are promoters of the sport. Why not promote healthy fishing instead of big payouts? You are correct, they do bring large amounts of money to the area. But if this is not stopped, the natural resources that are making these tax dollars will be wiped out.

After the Cumberland lodge tournament a couple months ago I witnessed a tournament boat drive down the ramp turn crossways, get in the boat and throw fish back in the water, guess his wasn't big enough to weigh. I did pick up a coulpe of kys by hand to add to my 2 stripers to clean

But it has been going on for years and the fishery is as strong as ever. The fact is the fish that died were an extremely small percentage of the fish that were caught, and the fish that were caught were a tiny, tiny fraction of the fish that live in that lake.

How many fishing holes have you seen in your lifetime get ruined? Just because it's doing well now does not mean it will for generations to come. Look how poorly the deer and Turkey hunting was in the past with no management. Now that ppl are managing it it is thriving. The same thing happens to fishing holes. Ky lake is bigger. It's just gonna take longer, not overnight.

KY Lake is being managed extremely well...Which is why there are the number of fisherman on the lake to begin with. The fishery is getting better not worse. Despite knee jerk reactions to a picture of a few dead bass.
