Any body tell me the conditions at Green going down this weekend and wondering how bad the rain has hurt fishing
Any info appreciated
looks to be 3 feet over sumer pool.
Water was fairly clear and up about 3 foot. Crappie were biting fair on minnows and jigs tipped with minnows. Slow trolled or spider rigged over 18 fow about 12 feet deep.
Incoming water is muddy & trashy around the 551 bridge as of yesterday afternoon. Lake is up nearly 3ft over pool and rising, and will likely rise some more. Weather Channel is showing a large thunderstorm over the entire lake, right now (5:22PM/Thur).
... pappy
I am 4 miles from Holmes Bend which is close to the 551 bridge mentioned. The thunderstorm we got this afternoon was nothing compared to Tuesday and Wednesday. If I were to make a prediction I would anticipate the lake to rise another 3-4 feet by Saturday/Sunday. It should be very dirty in the feeder areas and a lot more clear mid lake and on the lower end.
Up 5 1/2ft right now and expected to get up ariund 7ft by the end of the weekend. Cant speak on the water quality as i havent been out in about a month
I just cruised by the lake on the way home today. As can be expected they are pulling the lake very hard and all non floating docks at the ramps are submerged. (may be a factor if fishing alone and you done like beaching your boat) The lake is way up but the good thing about green river lake is that they can lower it much more quickly than some lakes.
