The last time the lake was checked by the Fish & Wildlife people
they said Mcneely lake had a higher than usual bass population
over 2 lbs and rated the lake "excellent" for bass fishing.
Not many lakes get that "excellent" rating.
There's a lot of bass in that lake,

Theres a fairly decent population in there for sure. Most the bass i catch there are 9-13". I fish it at least 4 times a week and produce a bass everytime i go.

By trash lake, i literally mean its a trash filled lake. Its horrible. The woods and trails along the lake are FILLED with garbage bags and trash strung everywhere. Most of it concentrates near the apartments for what thats worth. Its easily one of the most polluted lakes ive ever fished.

But yes the population is thriving fairly well from what i can tell. I truly doubt theres a large population of 18"+ LMB in there though. At least compared to some of the lakes ive fished in indiana that are the same size.

Great spot for being 5 minutes from my house though and provides plenty of practice

nice catch! my brother caught several largemouth in the 2.5-3 range out of mcneely last year. Population and quality of LMB's coming out of there has been improving.
