A lot of things have changed since those days.

If you went to the teacher and tattled about a bully, or most anything else, they'd tell you to just deal with it. Every tub was expected to stand on its own legs.

These days if you punch out a bully the cops are called. You should've gone to your teacher or some other authority figure, never ever take personal responsibility for anything. Personal responsibility is a thing of the past in the US of A.

Plenty of things we did would get you in bad trouble now.

If you failed a test, you failed. No grade curving, retakes, or coddling, just consequences. Kinda bad I guess for those with learning disabilities, but it was what it was.

By the time I got to high school, most of us had a gun rack with various 'assault weapons' in the back window, and the bathrooms smelled like an overflowing ashtray.

We said the pledge and the Lord's prayer every day in homeroom, and I'm pretty sure nobody was offended.

I grew up with a slug gun hanging in the window of the truck. I was dirt ass poor, it was my counsin's truck, but during DEER season, we were out early and late, and there were many times I killed and gutted a deer before school started.

Hell I took a musket and a KY long rifle in for show and tell in the 11th grade when we were studying the revolutionary war.

    **** sure has changed.

Some kids still take guns to school to learn more and gain experience with the criminal justice and court systems, especially with emphasis on incarceration techniques and practices. Very personalized learning available. And

I believe these kids learn a lot about totalitarian ENFORCEMENT options about being stupid. I agree with such options.

Likewise, I agree with the teaching I was taught about gun management, and usage. The second YOU CHOOSE to be stupid, is the second a TOTALITARIAN ideology will TAKE your ass down.

I would have signed up to take a long-range shooting class in HS. They could have added this to our Trigonometry class and trig would have meant more to me. I mean milliradians makes more sense now that I understand angles and long range shooting better. Or a pistol shooting and safety class. These days adults have to pay up to $120.00 for such a class in my area.
