Even though NO1 replyed to me the other day when I wanted some info on laurel about temps and water level I am going to do what I have ALWAYS done and post my report. Water temps oon laurel lake range from 39-41 and the water level is at or over summer pool. Fish are scattered as the baitfish are and seem to still be holding in the creeks. Water is clear on main lake and clear about halfway back into creeks and then stained to muddy from halfway back to the back. The worst place that i fished was craigs creek. When I went up in craigs creek to fish some of my fav holes for fnf it turned to pure MUD. It was nasty in there. Everyone Please Watchout for Floating debris, because it is everywhere. Dont know how many times me and my buddy come up on logs the size of a telephone pole floating on the main lake and everywhere in the creeks. Now to the report. It was warm sunday and it did raise the water temp from 39 to 41 as the day progressed. Didnt catch a fish or get a bite untill 1:00 pm. Fished fnf all day long, and at 1:00 my bobber finally vanished. Set the hook and the fight was on, and boated a Healthy 18 1/4 inch Largemouth. From there we had 3 more pulldowns and was able to boat a smallmouth ( 18") and that was it. Fishing was tough for us but it will get hot here in about 3 weeks. Let the lake stabalize and water temps get right and man will those smallies heat up!
