The Catfish Story with Pictures

I recently got an e-mail from Peter Maloney forwarding a rather strange tail / tale of a catfish in a local pond. Now had I heard this story I might have considered it strange and totally UNTRUE... but Peter got the story from a friend who got the story from a neighbor who it happens TOOK the pictures to prove the story.

It seems that one day the pond owner was walking his property when he noticed a strange item moving across the pond. It was pink and well moving against the wind and eratically. He walked down to the pond and lo and behold this is what he saw...

Apparently a rather large Flathead Catfish had found a childs ball and decided it looked relatively tasty. The fish had managed to get the ball in its mouth, but....

Was having a hard time getting it to go down. It apparently did not agree with him in more ways than one... So the nice guy that he is, the owner decided to fish the Catfish out of the pond and unlike most folks does not filet him.

Instead he takes a knife and Viola' the catfish has the ball obstruction removed from his mouth.... the catfish is allowed to go back to the pond to eat something else.

Lest you not believe this story, well here are the pictures.. and one more showing that no fish were harmed in the making of this story.
