You guys are nuts, there no jellyfish in Ky.LOL
Ive seen thousands of them in Harrods creek one day by the first bridge, and oh yes i had a friend with me to witness it.All the guys at work thought i was a nut when i told them but i called one of the people down at the falls observatory and she said yep they dont get much bigger than a nickel.Crazy.
Are they the kind that are not poisonous to people? Antbody have any further info on the type/species?
They are quite plentiful and are a primary food source for several aquatic species. A research team from Woods Hole Institute recently published photographic evidence of this little-known link in the Lake Cumberland food chain. The link below goes to a photo showing their interaction with other species:

(serious this time LOL)
You guys need to go back to a biology 101 class. There are no freshwater jellyfish in North America. Don't know what you've seen, maybe bryzoan attached to sticks, but it was NOT jellyfish.
Y'all need to quit smoking that hydromedusa and cut back on the velum. And JCB, get to work.
Absolutely not , give me some time and I''l get you the name of those things. They are ugly and do look like what you are saying but they are most certainly NOT jellyfish.
Bryozoan Larva, tell him to look this up on the puter and see if this isn't what he saw.
