Apology to Big Fish Tournament Guys

OK, apparently some guys showed up for the Big Fish Tournament at Horse Creek today. At dinner last nite we decided that 5 people was not enough for the tournament and decided to just fish. I apologize, I should probably have handled it differently. STILL the dinner was part of the event and if you are not at the dinner then you do not know if there are changes or cancellations.
IN the future I will post a tournament sign up sheet for you to mail to me and if we do not have enough then we can cancel, instead of cancelling the day before like we did this time.
I probably should have posted it on the board.

Moving back to the top, as I saw where someone enquired about the FNF get together, I think it was fishergurl.

Jim, who all showed up? A lot of people posted they were coming, sounds a lot like what happened this past summer.

Too bad. Had it been closer, maybe I could have made it, but a five hour drive or maybe six for a lake I had never been too, and may never go back too was just too far. Besides, the FNF doesn't work well at KY lake from what I've read.

There were 6 of us (3 Boats), very disappointed when we arrived at Horse Creek and noone was there. Two of my buddies drove from L-Ville the nite b4, just for this tourney. If the dinner was a requirement to fish the tourney, you should have noted this in your posts, or posted the rules for participation. We did however go ahead and hold our own fnf tourney and it was won with 1 small Ky bass. Fishin was tough sat, as any of you that fished that day know. The wind howled all day 20 to 35 mph, and you couldn't get out of it anywhere hardly.
When I tell someone I'll be there to fish, the only way I won't be there is if I'm dead or dying.
Just would have been nice not to have wasted all that time trailering around, and could have been on the water fishing.
I'm not gonna bash ya too hard Jim, found out when I got home today I got second place in the Avatar contest and won a T-shirt. Thanks for the shirt, just a little upset about Sat. !

If you held your OWN tourney then your efforts weren't lost or wasted. After fighting that friggin wind all day Fri you would've definitely understood why most of us agreed at the dinner to not have it.
At the advice of Bob Coan, we had the breakfast at 11am instead of earlier that morning so we could get some time in before the wind.
The best fishing Sat morning was from about 6am until 6:30 then the wind took over. So it wasn't worth 20 bucks to miss out on the fish we caught Sat morning. Shoot if we'd waited until 8am most of the folks that caught some fish would'nt have.
If you feel like we owe you something, please send me a bill.

I, personally, had a great time and it didn't have nothing to do with getting in a tourney.

I'll be back in in December for sure but will not participate in the tourney.

    Respectfully.

    Hey Billy,
That wind was wicked. I ended up zeroing in the BFL with about 99 other boaters. I think that there were 57 boaters that had fish and only 30 co-anglers.
It was indeed the toughest tourny I have fished in a while. I never even had a bite.
The weekend before I found a place were I could catch those green fish on a jig and thought that I would have a good tourny. But all you have to do is wait a week and our lovely weather will change and stick it to you.
    Later
    Doug

I beg to differ MR. REDNECK, you will be back in December and you will participate in a tourney of sort for we have some unfinished business to attend. You and I, same boat, your home grown flies, my punisher bought flies, your fnf rod, my fnf rod, a few of my honey holes when I have the front, a few of your honey holes when you have the front, with most and biggest wins I do believe not to mention something you said about all caught on video provided you can edit some other guy or gal over my big ugly body and face. I can't wait, where are those Alberta Clippers, keep the water temps 50 at least 2 more months so I can at least get one more trip to FNF before the spring fling begins.

First of all I'd like to apologize to Pheonix, it was a little stern on my part, but when it was stated that folks drove JUST TO FISH THE TOURNEY well that hit me wrong. To me the folks were the most important than 100 bucks,as always.

I do hope the couple with the video camera comes back. They can film the F-n-F off...LOL!!!!!

My F-n-F rods, Green Teeth and Big Shelia, will actually be making another trip this season without me.....along with my flybox(I have them counted).
Oh, I bought a bunch of plain unpainted aspirin heads......Guess what I'll have next season...

Sorry I could not be a the get together for I really wanted to go, but due to some work related business I could not go. Seems like you all had a lot going against you with the BFL and the crappy weather going on. Have you all thought about any plans about the summer get together. If so give us some dates so maybe I can get my vacation scheduled and get down there this time.

    Redneckshadrap;
None of the guys in our group are big tournament fisherman, we didn't come just for the tournament itself, some had planned on eating breakfast with the group and meeting some of the guys. We mainly just came to support Fishin.com and the event, the tournament was just a small part of it.
Sorry if anyone was offended by our disappointment.
