    Re: New rod!

I just sent 4 team daiwa rods back to have a gummy film removed from the handle on 2 and broken reel seats on 2, and they sent 4 new ones back. No charge, not even shipping.

The shimano crucial is second to none in my opinion in this price range. It is well made, good components and great warrenty. Competes very well with my GLoomis IMX and GLX rods costing twice to three times as much.

Kistler has jig rods starting at $149 check them out at Kistlerrods.com
They are Light and very sensitive, top of the line rods. I use the Helium LTA series, well worth the money.

Bass Pro is hard to beat as far as warranty goes and the bps extreme rods are good rods for the money. My personal favorite is a G loomis imx heavy for flippin jigs. I have a few kistlers I still use and they are nice rods also but I had to weed through the bad ones, we broke quite a few when they first came out a couple of years ago. Just my opinion, Jarrod

FYI BPS has some rods on sale right now. I'm thinking of picking up a BPS XTreme combo myself for my first-ever baitcaster. $100 for the combo seems pretty good to me.

Shimano clarus is a cheap good rod too. 70 or 80 bucks and it carries the warranty they all speak of.

    G. Loomis........PERIOD, end of STORY........

    I've used shimano.........CRAP.........

I've used BPS EXTREME......outside of the finess rod, they are also CRAP.......

I've used Castaway......OK......better than CRAP, but not a Loomis.......

I still use a couple All Star rods........MX-10's I think but might be wrong. They are the SECOND best rods I've used.....

THE BEST.......PERIOD, END of STORY are Loomis.......I have IMX, GL3's, GLX's, and have use the Bronseback rods.........

Now, don't get me wrong, they are EXPENSIVE, but the warranty is the BEST in the business, and I've used it on 10 year old rods, with no questions.

    Later,

    Geo

Dude not all of us have a wallet quite as thick as yours. I would hardly call shimano rods = crap. Granted Loomis is ALL THAT and a bag of chips but again maybe the guy can't spend three hundred dollars on a rod.

    Re: New rod!

    Hey,

I didn't mean to honk anyone off...........And I've NEVER paid full retail for any of my loomis rods...........YOU can LOOK around and find them. sometimes on ebay, sometimes on clearance.......etc. etc.

Heck, I purchased a Loomis FnF rod last year for I think 40 bucks off ebay that had the tip broken off. I paid 40 + 10 for shipping, and immediately sent it back to loomis as a broken rod.......I did not use expediter, and paid 25.00 and waited 5 days for a new rod.......

Once I got the new rod, I SOLD it as BRAND new on ebay for close to full retail.....and used the proceeds to buy what I wanted.

Do a search on ebay for broken g loomis.........you will find some and if you're willing to do the work, you can get a NEW rod for 1/4 - 1/2 price.......sometimes better. got both my GLX rods that way..........

    Later,

    Geo
