Why don't you help me decide what the best boat/motor combo would be for running shallow rivers (cumberland) and the big lakes (cumberland). That should take some time and use some brain cells ;-)

I'm at home with the trot's todayand I haved watched 4 movies and read my Bassmaster mag. Someone tell me a fish story or a sweet fishing rod and reel they put together from Christmas gifts. Anything!

Heck yeah that's a good one. How fast do you want to go? I'm all for two boats one for skinny water and 20ft plus Ranger for the big lake!

That might be what I end up doing, just need more space for all the toys! But hey that's what driveways and blue tarps are for right
This boat looks like a contender:

Why don't you get you one of those Bass Trackers about 17' long. Then add one of those jet propulsion motor to add to it. Then you can take that boat in any depth of water you want.
Roland Martin borrowed a boat like that one year about 10 years ago to fish in a B.A.S.S. Tournament on a real shallow river. No one else used a boat like he did and he was able to get to the small mouth bass that the other anglers couldn't get to. He won by a landslide, only thing is I can't remember which river it was held on.
Won't have to worry about banging up the prop on rocks or be worried about running in very very shallow water.
Anyone here ever run something like that? Looks cool! I wonder what it would cost to fix something like that and even more important who in your area could work on it?
It's just a jet "foot" installed where the lower unit prop would be. The rest of the motor is the same. I think you lose 25%HP running it
Do you think something like this would work?
