Ive spent the last month without a fish over 6 pounds but lady luck finally shined on me yesterday. Fishin was a lil tough yesterday on Ky due to the strong cold front that came through Sunday. I was lucky enough yesterday to catch a 6-15 as well as a Smallie that weighed 4-10. We only managed to catch about 20 fish all together but i was happy because i ended the big fish drought i was going through.![]()

congrats on big fish. It always feels so good to get a your hands on a fish like that.
We had one a little shy of 7 last tuesday. Got to love the night bite!! Thanks to everyone for the input on night fishing. We caught that one with 10 minutes to go until weigh in - LUCKY. We never had one under 4 once it got dark. I am working at Fisherman's HQ tonight, and then back to school for some meetings - so I am out this week, but after next week, I have nothing to do so we should get together and start putting it to the FLW boys on tuesdays.

I must be doing something wrong. I've never caught a 6lber out of KYL or Barkley. Had a few break free that I thought were 6+ potential. Caught tons of 4's and 5's but the delier has not let me do better then that.
Any pattern you find getting the big one?
Congrats on the nice fish.
David, as far as a pattern for the big fish, i never really found one, we had post-frontal conditions and the water temp had dropped several degrees so i slowed down the way i was fishing. I had been catching several keepers from 15" to 5lbs, but havnt caught anything over 6lbs since March. I really dont think you or i have done anything wrong, i just this this spring kinda scattered the fish and our normal spring patterns never really devolpedI must be doing something wrong.
