I'd pick another day. The water below the dam is too high and too fast right now.

I am thinking of hitting up the Ohio River tomorrow around Louisiville, if we can get these storms to hold off. Has anyone been doing any good down there? I hate to spend the gas money if I'm not gonna catch any. Been catchin doin pretty well on the Kentucky River on crappie and sauger, but I'm ready to catch something that's gonna pull a little drag!

I decided to hold off for another day. Thanks for the input. What water is a good water level to fish up there?
It looks like a good level to fish right now, it is at 18 feet and dropping. Give it a try.
What kinds of bait do you use?Live bait or cast lures?
I use both live bait and lures. It depends on the time of day, season, water level etc. Sometimes I will cast lures early in the day, then switch to bottom bouncing as the sun comes up. I may go this weekend, will let you know how I do if I go.
Water level on lower was down to 16.6 feet. Went fishing today and caught several nice stripers on chicken liver. Also caught several nice cats, one blue and the rest channels.
Below the hydros.
Tyme2fish, that sounds like a pretty good day! I may be down there this weekend. I have been dyin to get back down there to fish. Two hours to Louisville sounds alot better than 4 to Barkley with gas at $4 a gallon! I usually take my john boat, but my buddy wants to bring his big fiberglass deckboat. I know that it may be pushing it since the water will continue to drop tomorrow. What do you think? Any of your good stripes over 15?
All of our 6 stripers were over 15 inches. All released.
