As usual even Wal-Mart carries these. They are usually right next to the Rocket Fisherman. Not joking, really!

The kids today arn't even going to know what fishing is. From remote control boats to a rod that shoots your lure out for you. It is getting a bit ridiculous.
For a kid you really can't beat a Zebco 33 and light ugly stick. Thats how I got started.
Cobra, I honestly had never seen these before until I got it in an email--I try to avoid Wal-Mart as much as possible.

Where's Roland Martin when you need him, SON, LOL.
15 pound catfish VS 6 ounces of chinese plastic... hummm...
Exactly:
They should have asked me to consult with them on this device. I have an idea that will make it work much better and let them catch some big fish.
This is an idea that I have had in my head and have been thinking about how to make this work. I'll bet that I thought about this for the last 20 or more years. It was something that I indistinctly had put together many years ago.
I am really surprise that someone actually is trying to market the idea. And they wanted $50 for this boat at Walmart.
I saw this boat for sale at the West Side Walmart in Evansville for the first time this March. I almost fell over right there when I saw that they had a TV setup with a Video Running on how to fish with this toy boat.
I like the way they use twin propeller and had a shroud around the propeller. But weeds or used fishing line can still get caught up in the propeller and jam them up. That can lead to destruction of the electric motors.
And the box and directions didn't say how long the fully charged batteries would last. And I could not see in the instructions anything that described the range for the remote control and boat to stay in contact.
The idea could work for small pond that are without weeds and other debris
But this would work best at the Trout tanks at the local Boat and Sport Shows.
This boat would work well in a small swimming pool.
But you take this out to a lake and let the wind catch it and it will be blown all the way across the lake.
And if a big catfish gets hooked up on the line connected directly to the boat .. that boat will be pulled under and lost.
I know of a better way to do this without losing the boat. Anyone else have any ideas on how to improve on this way of fishing?
You can buy almost the same thing at the Walmart Toy Dept for about $20.
This toy is way over prices IMHO.
I'll buy a toy remote control boat for 20 bucks and attack a planer boats quick release to the boat so that the boat can take my fishing rod and reels line out away from my bass boat. That way I can sit in my boss boat and maneuver my bait into the shallower water at the back end of a cove and not scare the big fish away. Once the fish hits the bait my fishing line is release from the toy boat and I have the fish attacked to a real rod and reel and can play the fish back to my bass boat or the shoreline or dock. I won't have to worry about the fish pulling my toy boat under the water.
If you read the manual (it's online) you will see that if the boys antenna touches the water it's ruined. So much for that stupid design. One big fish gets hold of that worm and it's bye bye $60 toy boat plus shipping.
They must not be familiar with fishing planer boards or fishing with down-rigger balls. The planer boards use these quick line releases that detach your fishing line from the planer board when a fish hits the bait. The extra resistance of the fish being dragged though the water Will make your fishing line slip out of the quick release device. Same thing happens when you fish with a down rigger device.
You would think that they would have figured this out when they were designing this $60 toy boat.
This toy boat does have two designers that the $20 toy boat from the toy dept does not have. That is the Partially Shrouded propellers and the twin propellers.
I have been looking at these toy remote controlled boats at Walmart for the last year. I almost bought one and was going to put it in a small lake and test it out this spring. But I decided that the propeller was too susceptible to weeds or fishing line getting tangles in it and that would had caused the motor to burn up. So I put the thing back on the shelf.
I also almost purchased this $50 boat at the local Walmart. It's close but no cigar.
Now if they would use a quick release device on a short wire and use that to attach your fishing line it would be a lot better way to catch fish.
As its sold now it's a totally waste of good money. First big fish that hits it and pulls it under will make the boat useless.

i think the best and greatest scenario and it would make good footage on u tube is to take the boat to cland and tie a thunder stick on it and drive it back and forth across some points jsut to see what would happen.... or if u could some how do a stop and go with a zara spook.... just leave the kids at home or u will be cryin cause u lost a big fish adn they would be cryin cause u sunk their boat......
I've seen this used mainly below locks and dams where there are no access buoys and/or no entry zones. The motorized boats take your bait or float rig into the most productive waters nearer the dam base and drop it there while having your boat sitting in legal or safe water. Again used when there is no possible way to reach area via normal casting because of the distance.
They were selling these boats by the truckload at the Indy Boat Show last winter.
Dave bought 2 of these himself and this is what we used during the Charity Tourney a couple of weeks back just to give Buzzking and the other a fighting chance. We had too many good fish on Friday and thought it would level the playing field on Saturday. I think we would have won it on Saturday but he busted off the lower unit on his boat when he got out of the crossing Channel and mine broke off the trolling motor on one of the 4 footers. We ended up towing both of them behind his Ranger all day because the batteries went dead and we had no spares and he lucked into the only keeper of the day but I think it was just because he was using the Blue one and he made me use the Pink one.
Harley (Scott) and I went last night and I hooked one that I believe woud have swallowed it hole but after a bit of a struggle and I have no idea how, she spit my jointed redfin. I will never understand how these Monster Stripers can bust a bait with 3 trebles, I set the hook as hard as I can, fight the fish for 30 seconds or so, absolutely no slack in my line and all of a sudden she comes loose. I will never understand this.i think the best and greatest scenario and it would make good footage on u tube is to take the boat to cland and tie a thunder stick on it and drive it back and forth across some points jsut to see what would happen.... or if u could some how do a stop and go with a zara spook.... just leave the kids at home or u will be cryin cause u lost a big fish adn they would be cryin cause u sunk their boat......
