Im fishing a few of the FLW tour tournaments as a non boater and was praticing on Loudon - Telico lakes I put in and started fishing and noticed a bass boat pulling a pontoon who had broke down, I didnt think much of it until my daughter Haley said hey dad thats that guy on TV and then I heard him laugh. I said "thats Jimmy Houston" and she said "yeah thats the guy that kisses the fish and has white hair" lol. I thought is was cool to see a professional athlete do something like that for someone. He even jumped onto the guys boat to let him get a photo with him. COOL dude in my book.

I met Jimmy Houston at BPS Cinci at Fishing U a couple years ago......
One of the nicest people you'll EVER meet. AND talk about down to earth.
He talked to us like we were equals, because at the seminar.........WE WERE.......
GREAT GUY, and really willing to share information.

Sorry guys but I don't feel the same about ole Jimmy. Jimmy Houston was caught on video in the Canned Hunting issue here in Indiana hunting behind the fence. For those of you who have seen the video, it has ruined my opinion of Jimmy and others like him forever!
Hunting in high fenced areas is not illegal and is done all over the US. If you don't agree with it so be it but many people make a good living by providing this type of outdoors service whether it is hunting or fishing.
I've met Jimmy a time or two and he has always been a real down to earth guy and willing to help you out if needed.

NOt many of us who have seen that video will watch or listen to "Cackles" again. And as far as calling it hunting I guess we can just call the guy at the slaughter house a hunter too, at least he doesn't prop the drugged animal up and poke it full of holes while laughing about it.Hunting in high fenced areas is not illegal and is done all over the US. sounds like raporter might be one of those PETA fruitcakes. Remember PETA stands for People Eating Tasty Animals!!
Yep that's me. Just had some deer steaks last night. Anyone who can shoot a drugged deer that is propped up against a fence over and over just lost all respect from this lifetime HUNTER. If you don't understand why those of us will never watch JH again just google him and watch him "HUNT" the "ELUSIVE" Indiana whitetail. If he would do that to a deer I can only imagine to what lengths he would go to film a fishing show. Some of us still respect the animals we hunt and the fish we catch.
If you have money you can hunt whereever you want and the type of animal you desire. Look at the realtree guy, Bill Jordan(?). He hunts and films in these types of places all the time. To me I agree with you it isn't really hunting. However, I don't see where it affects the character of a person. Jimmy Houston has great character and has done alot for the sport of bass fishing. I disagree with you here.

Where do you think Knight and Hale does most of there hunting shows, they have a place close to barkley with 10' high fence all around it. They won't even let there familys hunt on this farm. Its not the most ethical way but thats t.v. for you.
If it doesn't say fair chase it is probably filmed in an inclosure. I have hunted for 55 years and respected every animal I have ever taken and hate to see the sport I love cheapened in this manner. I also would never lower myself and call a fellow outdoorsman a PETA member just because I didn't agree with him.![]()
