These women will get sick and tired of the Dem bashing on Palin and her daughter and Palins special needs child. That party is going to shoot themselves right in the foot on Palin.

Being a voter in this election doesn't mean you know the issues or that you have a thought on what you really want so don't assume only "educated" voters vote. Alot of votes are based on the party/candidates they can relate too and that is what will decide this election. JMO

In a speech on September 10, 2001, Biden argued that the Bush administration's focus on missile defense had diverted out attention from more likely threats. The new threat to the United States, he said, "would not come from an inter-continental ballistic missile with a return address" but in "the belly of a plane" or from a "vial smuggled in a backpack or a bomb in the hold of a ship." Where was Sarah Palin on 09/10/2001? Had she even been elected mayor yet?

But really, I think history shows that the second name on the ticket isn't all that important. People generally vote based on the Presidential candidate, not the VP. But, to be honest, I think she'd make a better President than either McCain OR Obama. Too bad she and Biden can't team up. Of the four (McCain, Obama, Palin, and Biden), those are the two I'd most like to see in office.

What I do not get is Obama is for change then picks a 30 year senator who has run for president on the democrat primary and has never garnered over 2 or 3% of the vote. Then McCain picks a female Governor from Alaska now who is for change? The McCain ticket has the experience at the top of their ticket and the democrat ticket has the experience at the bottom.

    Re: Sarah Palin

WHAT DOES IT MATTER? It seems that this election has gotten out of hand, I mean that the "producers" of this "show of shows",which is all main stream media, FOX, CNN, MSNBC, etc. Have really produced a hit series, the GREAT President race, this all seems like a bad reality show or soap opera. All the hype the slander, the mudslinging, the preg teen, the un american brother, the war hero, the huntress, the crony, all are great charactors in this show. Obama does not pick Hillary as VP, so ole John goes and picks one, to one up maybe, who knows what was behind this. We pick our favs and then vote and AMERICA WILL DECIDE who is the next American President. Really Hollywood could have written this script. But what I do see from all of this is that now both parties are dodging the problems of this country and now the focus is VP selection, sorry gas is 4.00 gal but Paylin's kid is preg or Obama's brother has terror ties and crap like that. This seems like another way to divide this country more, but why worry who is president anyway as if things do not change fast then we either will be owned by CHINA or overran by Mexico, The Saudia's and the Arab Oil countries already control us.

Yep - this election has really turned me off of politics. Well....I was pretty turned off of it to begin with, but this is the nail in the coffin.

Watching people debate this election (not the issues, because they apparently don't matter, but the election) from an independent standpoint really has shown me the levels of hypocrisy that people will sink to to justify ANYTHING their party's candidate does and condemn ANYTHING the other party's candidate does....even if they are essentially the SAME THING.

    It's sickening.

Wow, I watched the RNC last night and they talked about a whole lot of issues, and the put downs were'nt near what I saw from the DNC, not even close.

I'm not talking about the candidates. I'm talking about people....like you and I.

I saw clips of it and it appears to me there were plenty of putdowns, but again if people support that party, they don't see that.

In addition, it's not even about the hypocritical justifications, it's about the childish, petty attacks as well. It all sickens me.

    Re: Sarah Palin

I saw her speech and she is a good speaker, likable, motherly, etc. It is just like I have said it is a well produced reality show. Did any of you see the show Commander in Chief? The Republicans have stolen the script from that show somewhat. McCain is old and did not look good last night, if he dies in office the Repubs have put the first woman in office, good plan. This was the only way McCain could get elected. Her speech was played just right, and after it was over here comes her family, all of them, and the camera shots were great, it was like they were using the downs baby as a focus point, to get the " oh so sweet vote". This election is now not about issues anymore, it is a show. PERIOD.THis whole thing has made me not even want to vote, maybe that's what they want, us to give up. She will help McCain get elected not due to her "experiance" but she will get the symphany vote from a lot of women and men. That is the real reason NcCain chose her, not for her qualifications but her personality, and her "mom" stature. This is wrong, the country is falling apart and the main issue now is the vp choice's preg daughter and if she can raise a family while in office. She can do that but can she get us out of war and fix the economy? Guys you all need to look thru the hype as it seems that some have already been taking in by this "HYPE". This is our country at stake here, not a social , not a hockey game, not about a teen preg, not about how nice one looks and she hunts/fishes. It is about who can best lead OUR country the best and fix things and protect us. This is not a show but real life, and it has turned into a "SHOW" very quickley.

    Re: Sarah Palin

COME ON Mike not quite the dumbest post ever put here...... I am just making an observation. PERIOD. It is not "DUMB" to question the motives of either party. The dumbest thing Obama did was not to get Hillary as a running mate, and I wish he had. So the repubs played the "gender card" and played it well as they have a winner here, maybe this is what the country needs, I do not know. But what I am trying to say is that the issue's do not seem to matter as much as all the focus has been shifted. The mani thing that gets me is all the media hype put out by both parties. I do not card that Palins daughter is preg, I do not care that Obama's brother has problems, I do not care that McCain is a war hero, which I give him the utmost respect for what he went thru, and he came back alive, I care about how this country will get back on it's feet, that the economy will rebound that gas and food will go down and stablize, that we wil find new rennewable energy sources, all the stuff that matters. It is dumb not to question and not look at the whole picture. It must have struck a nerve as you would not have commented like that open your mind a little and you will see what point I am trying to make I am not trying to change your mind, mine is not even made up yet, as yes I like Palin and I like MCcain, but I also want change, and i do not like the way this whole election has been ran by both sides. It seems" like a fairy tail" by both sides.
