    Re: Bailout Bill

I wasn't going to vote, but this bailout fiasco/scam has me mad enough that I checked out where my polling place is and have made a list of the people I'm going to vote against. Basically, it's everyone who voted for this bailout.

So the big question for me now is to decide whether to vote for Nader or the Libertarian candidate for President...or just not cast a vote in that election since McCain and Obama BOTH voted for it.

    Re: Bailout Bill

Man trying to pin this on one party or the other is totally wrong, every single representitive we have is guilty to some degree, I 'd say 80 to 90% would be close. Big Mitch McConnel was standing there on the first day saying we must pass this bill no questions ask we have a fire to put out don't stop the fireman and ask about a smoke alarm. What kind of leadership is this, but year after year kentucky votes him back in. There is alot of finger pointing out there and no one taking responsibility. I agree with the guy who wants term limits man these dogs have got to long of chain. My medical bills run around 30 thousand a month even with my insurance and VA beneifits it cost me around 1500 to 2000 dollars this is over half of my total monthly income man I know I have it better than alot of others, one man in my clinic is a retired farmer he sold the family farm 5 years ago 600 acres, he should have been set for life but he has some meds that run him $700 a month and there at least two of them at that price, he is on dialysis like me, it runs us 17 to 21 thousand a month, and with SS coverage at just 80% that leaves at least 3400 out of pocket if you do not have a supplemental coverage. it comes from you SSI will not pay if you have any assets, so here is a 66 year old American who has sold all that his Great Grandfather on down has worked so hard for just to watch it go to hospitals and doctors, want to spend some pork money bail him out, This semester will be the last for a friend of mines daughter, she told her dad I can not let you and mom go down the tubes for 2 more years, His plant moved to Mexico, he had a buy out retirement he worked for them for 16 years, crated up his own machine and then was told to train a mexican here in the plant to do his job down there, (nothing bad about the mexican he has a family and will make a hell of a lot less) his pay back after taxes was less than 20 thousand that was three years ago, his daughters senior year. tutition at her school is around 4 thousand a semester not counting books and all the trimmings. Lets bail him out. Drive over to eastern KY and look around at the flat top mountians and the folks living between the cracks litterally in trailers and shacks schools with no books to bring home to do home work, bail out from down here it seems that the big boats are getting bailed and the jon boats are getting swampped. Did you see the golden parachutes these guys were floating down on, most over 50 million, I have gotten the pink slip once or twice and my unemployment sure did not have that many zeros in any of the checks. Man what a rant it is not all my fault though palin was on TV earlier and dog gone it she spoke for 30 minutes and did not say one thing about what we are going to do (McPalin) This thing is going to hurt and yet the politicions are saying no more taxes on big business, my tax return last year 0 denada, I am paying out the ying yang to the Hospitals and they want to give me a 5000 dollar tax credit to by more insurance, man if I had an extra five thousand I could take the wife to McDonalds tonight. what good is a credit if there is no money left in the bucket. And the the people said bail out. I keep hearing a faint cry of congressmen and Senators first all others report to the Titanic!

The market just dropped 10,000 the lowest in 4 yrs. Things just getting worse. They should have listened to the people and some others who said to give the money to the people and let them bail out the country. But as we all now know the politicans NEVER listen to the people only to themselves. Our leaders have really let us down. They all need tared and feathered and rod out on rails. THis is a crime against the citizens of this country, and greed was the motive.

Bobby you and I just formally agreed on something. I think this will go down in history as one of the greatest political blunders of the modern era.

kNOW WHAT THEY SAY GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE.lol lol lol. It is a mess and it has really hurt this country, I have seen so many depressed people that it is making me depressed. People who were making over 100k a year, are now running out of unemployment, savings etc and are coming in to apply for food stamps and medical cards. We might not agree on the parties or the canidates, but it is good we all agree that the economy is screwed and agree that greed was the party to blame. Mark we have to go fishing sometime.lol

WE all agree that the Pols we elect are guilty regardless of party affiliation but I think it is important to learn whose business philosophy failed. If it was the Dems and their wealth redistribution ideas of giving money out to underserving people then lets learn from that. If it was the GOP and their inability to stand up and fight the evil left and their greedy selfserving ideas then lets learn from that. LOL I just want to be fair and balanced.

Hey Gov. Arnold S. from Cali wants the feds to help them now wonder when the rest of the states will start asking for money to help run their economy. I wonder if the states that harbor illegals will be asking for money first? I say yep.

ILLEGALS AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. We here in Ky are harboring several, enough to have 5 Mexican restaraunts in Hartford and Beaver Dam, my county is overrun with them, I belive that they are part of our economy problems also, they pay NO TAXES, none and send a lot of their CASH back to whever they came from. What happened to SECURITY, as a lot of these are from countrys that HATE US, Venesula, and some other TERROSIT countrys in South and central America. DJD what are we to do, how do we take back OUR country from the RICH, POWERFUL & GREEDY and the Illegals?????????????????? We the American citizen has had ENOUGH they have raped us, stole from us, lied to us, denied us. The Legal Tax paying working middle class citizen has been discriminated against long enough, we have no rights no more as long as we work and pay taxes so the rich get breaks and the crimanils get to take it easy. I saw an article about endangered species, they failed to add the middle class citizen to the list as endangered and threatened.

I just read an article the other that was printed in the New York Times from Sept of 99 where the Clinton administration was pressuring Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to issue home loans to individuals of minorities that could not afford them. The idea that under a robust economy that if push come to shove they would just sell or lender would assume debt and sell. Several well known advisors told them it would be a huge mistake during a down turn in economy but the powers that be ignored them. In other words Don, you are right but now what do we do, it's a real cluster....! At this point I am now past who's fault it is and and wondering what in the heck we are gonna do to right the ship.

I don't view it as much of a minority issue. The biggest blame lies with these companies who knew they were getting themselves in trouble. We should have let them pay the consequences and allowed companies who want to do things the right way come in and take over. We basically just enabled them to do it all over again in a few years and our tax money will go to waste bailing them out again.

    Re: Bailout Bill

This is all I have to say on this bailout bill:

    You can't fix stupid.

    You won't fix greed

    ALL POLITICIANS ARE CROOKED

The heck with all of the idiots that bought a house they couldn't afford. The bankers that made the loan, and Freddie and Fannie that were FORCED to cover these insane loans.

Brothers, the "wealth" is surely now being redistributed as I sit in my paid off house, looking at my paid off trucks and boat, etc.

The only "bailout" I have is a coffee can in my boat!!

    Re: Bailout Bill

Did you all see where the execs from AIG went on a spa trip and spent $440K following the bailout? That's EXACTLY why we shouldn't be using our tax dollars to support the bad habits of bad businesses. If we hadn't bailed them out, they would have failed and perhaps a business that wanted to do things the right way would have taken their place.
