I was there today and caught 2 largemouth. Fish were not as active as I thought they would be. Once the water cools a little the fishing should pick up some. Hopefully.

My buddy and I fished Brookville (for the 1st time this year) all day Friday, but only ended up with 2 fish. We tried about everything we had. Saw lots of shad and saw fish working the surface, but just couldn't connect. We talked to some other guys, and they weren't doing any better. We even saw Tag anchored under the causeway, jigging, fishing a cricket, or something, but didn't see him pulling out anything either. Sure was a beautiful day though.

my buddy and i were at brookville on thursday and caught 5 walleye and about 40 white bass, a few crappie, and a couple of catfish all on spoons. we bass fished for about an hour and caught 1 12 inch bass on topwater.
Brookville, Sunday 10/12, three largemouth, none over 12".
I was there Friday as well and myself and partner had over 20 smallies. Buzz-Baits early and scattered grass clumps with a tube later. Depth about 6-10ft. on the flats where you could find a little grass. If the forcast holds true, get back out there this week on the wind blown flats and points and throw a white crank bait till your arm falls off. I bet ya have a pretty good day!!

What were the water temps Ray? Water levels?
Bassky
It didn't appear they were pulling water yet. The water temps were 67 when we started and 69 when we left.

Ray,
When do they start pulling water generally...........Most other lakes are already pretty close to pool. KY, Barkley, Patoka, etc, etc..........We're headed to KY this next weekend, but May head to Brookville over Halloween, if the fishing gets good.
I must admit, I've never been to Brookville, and can use any pointers.
Thanks,
Geo
George, if memory serves me correctly they would have started pulling by this weekend. This works pretty good @ B-Ville as it creates a little more current. Just pull a little farther out on the flats, or go parrallel (SP) to the banks with little ridges or drops on them.
I know a lot of people hate B-Ville but in the fall, I would put that lake up against any in the state for solid numbers and quality smallies. It's just knowing how to approach the lake and fish it properly.

So what would you do this weekend Ray? Although, the water will be cooler but the front would have passed, post front, blue bird sky.
I would still approach my morning the same way, buzz-bait or zara-spook. After the sun came out bright I would toss a 3/4 single blade spinner bait at about a mid range depth of 8-16ft. or a crank bait that would hit that depth and try and pick off the suspending fish. If the wind gets up I would hit the points again. This time of year post front watch for the balls of shad in the mouth of the creeks and toss a silver buddy below em. That's what I would do. It will be 3-4 days post front and they should be some what stabilized. I love this time of year over there and after this last weekend @ Geist that is probably where you will find me all winter until it gets iced over. Than i'll hit the river in the jet and get after the warm water discharge smallies.......

That's awesome! I wish we'd talked to you BEFORE we went. Of course, I didn't have any buzz baits with me, but we did throw a variety of cranks. Mostly silver, black/silver.
