EXAMPLE:

The latest episode of "The Family Guy" has a main character dressed up as a NAZI, and is sporting a McCain/Palin button. Now, I can understand since Seth MacFarlane is in LOVE with Obama........but GET REAL.

I wonder how much CRAP he would have caught if he'd dressed up the same character in a white hood and robe, and had him sporting an Obama button..........

Now, I DON'T WANT to catch any crap and don't want anyone calling me a racist, because I'm NOT, but I really don't see any difference, but the OUTRAGE on the left would be OBVIOUS......

I wonder why the OUTRAGE is not OBVIOUS right now.............

It is sad that this is what our country has has came to.........

What you are talking about is just another part of the reason why I have said for several years THAT THIS COUNTRY IS MORALLY, SPIRITUALLY, AND FINANCIALLY BANKRUPT--ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE WE FIND OUT WHICH FINALLY DOES US IN. I totally and completely agree with you 100%. When they do this stuff it's considered funny but let the RIGHT side do something and it's hate mongering. I think alot of it started with this foul mouth hip hop garbage and all the bile people can view on television. I'm all for people being able to view and do what they want in their own home within reason but don't shove it on the impressionable young minds every chance you get the way this main stream media does. Parents as hard as they try can not watch their children 24/7 all the time, so they are going to be exposed to this crap once in awhile if it's around. America needs more shows like Andy Griffith, Beverly Hillbillies, and Gilligans Island again. No hidden political, sexual, interracial, violence agenda's just good clean fun. Sorry for the rant, but again George, brother you are dead on track.

First of all if your children are watching "Family Guy" you are not doing something right. It is not a kids show. If you have ever watched that show more than once, you would see that they make fun of everyone equally. "American Dad" is made by the same guy (Seth McFarland), and that character is a devout republican, and has made similar jabs at Obama.


I think blaming our country's decline on the media is overshooting the real issue. What about the parents that allow their children to watch anything. I am glad I have the choice to watch whatever I want, and I am also responsible enough to make the choice for what I see as appropriate for my kids to watch.


I think the Family Guy is one of the best shows out there. In fact I Tivo'd it and may watch it again.

Yes Bobby Mary Ann was hot so maybe I missed that one, lol. Col nobody said that the parents wasn't where the buck stopped, but if you truely believe that the outside influence of media television ect, ect doesn't help shape young people you are naive as all get out. I'm not one of those guys that believe that if kids watch the wrong video games long enough they will come to your school and shoot everybody.
That is an individual who is obviously mentally wounded in some fashion or another.

However it's guys like you that took the Ten Commandments off of the walls of your school.

And it's guys like you that said corporal punishment wasn't meant for the school.

And it's guys like you who say to the kids that it's not alright for the parents to discipline their children with an occassional woodshed trip.

I can keep going Col but it's guys like you with your super liberal agenda that are a huge part of today's problems.

Blaming the parents for every single thing that happens is sometimes a cop out.

Even the liberal agenda has helped to remove the Dad from an authoratative figure from the home.

Ginger was not bad either and the Beverly Hillbillys, Elly May in those short shorts and halters, I has to be between her and Mary Ann. lol lol lol. On the subject of racy cartoons, some of you should remember the older Bugs Bunny cartoons and others, A lot of them were not ment for children back then, as they were considered RACY, and some had political overtones, but I do agree that some now are not for children, but in this country we HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH and also FREEDOM OF THE REMOTE. So is someone finds something they do not agree with then they have the right to switch the channel, however these same should not try to control what others watch. But I sure love ole ANDY that was one of the best shows ever on TV, not only was it entertaining but it also taught us about morals and being decent and caring for others, we need more shows like ANDY GRIFFITH.

Yes that was a little harsh, however, if that's how you feel I can't change that. The problem is, I don't have a problem with most of the things you listed. I don't have a problem with corporal punishment in school, however, I would never hit someone else's child. I don't see any problem with someone spanking their own kid, within reason of course.
I am not blaming all of this on the lack of parents - But even DJD has admitted that the lack of parent involvement is the single biggest problem in public schools, and I think that extends to other aspects of society as well. How can you blame it on the video games, and the media. I love Grand Theft Auto - would I ever allow my child or any child play that NO, and any parent that would has made a poor choice.

So if you want to blame someone like me for today's problems, go ahead. Keep in mind it is my belief that learning of values, ethics and morals start at the family level - and the majority of influence leading towards the devleopment of those take place at the family level. I don't expect the schools, the government, and especially not the media to have a major contributing affect on instilling these values on my children. It is my job as a parent to teach right from wrong - and many parents today are failing at that.

And once again as I said I agree with your stance on parenting and their role with the kids, but I stand behind the other things I said to. You did surprise me with the corporal punishment thing though I'd bet an arm against that one and lost, lol.

Old man told me to act right at school or suffer when I got home...... Made me into a better person today...Whoopin's didn't hurt me at all, they helped me see the light........
