Good luck Craig it's been tougher than a pine knot down there this fall.

Headed down sunday morning. Anyone been lately? Probably going to fish some main lake stuff and maybe try back in the creeks a bit. Hell, may even dust off the ole buggy whip and see if my bobber will still float, then torpedo for greater depths!
Good luck Craig it's been tougher than a pine knot down there this fall.
Thanks a million! I need all the luck I can get. If all else fails, I got some dynamite I been rat holing lol
I got my float and fly rods all rigged up with new line and plan on hitting C-Land next weekend for a few hours.
Good luck. I am dying to get out here. Too bad it gets dark at 4:30, and it seems to be windy every weekend. I may make an attempt tomorrow.
Fish have been holding to the main lake banks pretty well....course thats drownin minnows...good luck to ya
How'd you do?
Well how did you do, tell me you hammered them cause that's what I want to hear.
Well, took the lovely Wife with me, and she can not back the boat down the ramp to launch me. So I back the boat down, give her a rope to hold on to and tell her that when the boat comes off the trailer, pull it over to the side and beach it on the bank. Back the boat in, pull the trailer up the hill, and start the walk back down to the ramp, where I find my boat sitting sideways on the launch ramp, and three other boats in line waiting to launch. She says, "Its stuck!" So, I hurry down the ramp, only to find it is stuck. The wind has pushed it sideways up on the bank. So I hop in, and try to use the trolling motor to no avail. Long story short, both my feet got wet up past my ankles. Great way to start the day. Cranked up, ran a short way down the lake and started slinging a buzzbait. Caught two spots in the first ten minutes, then nothing til about ten thirty. Caught a chunky largemouth on a jerkbait. This is also about the time the Wife decides to sit down in the boat and do nothing. Started feeling bad that she was out there and decided to leave around 1. Never took a bite on a jig or shaky worm. Water temp was 55-57 depending on where you were. Hope this helps, sure as hell is not considered hammering them lol.
weve been catchin 30+ plus minnow fishin when we've been....didnt get out there this weekend but aim on gettin out there next....was down two weekends ago and killed em...had 2 keeper browns and 2 maybe 3 more hooked and a 5+ largemouth....talked to a guy sunday that said he had a 26" brown fish....id say theyre turnin on
A 26 inch smallmouth, good Lord man what a fish. With any girth at all that fish had to be pushing 7lb if not over, wow. I haven't resorted to live bait yet and that's not a put down I just haven't done it. Are you using shiners or are you litterally using minnows?? Slip bobbers or free line??weve been catchin 30+ plus minnow fishin when we've been....didnt get out there this weekend but aim on gettin out there next....was down two weekends ago and killed em...had 2 keeper browns and 2 maybe 3 more hooked and a 5+ largemouth....talked to a guy sunday that said he had a 26" brown fish....id say theyre turnin on
