BTW, seen on the news where something like 8 places across the nation have now recorded new all time low temps ever. The state of Maine recorded a low last night in Caribou of -50 degrees which now is their new all time state recorded low temp. The windchill there last night they said was -68 degrees. Boy's I never have bought this Global Warming stuff, and this year has just solidified with me that's it's complete and udder garbage.

I don't know this Alberta lady you speak of, but the Clippers have been a failure for years. No matter who is in the front office they still do bad in the draft and when they get good young talent they don't spend any money to keep them! Woke up this moring froze up like a popsicle. My electric went off at about 4:30 and was still off when I left. My neighbor said he got a call from WRECC to goto a local shelter until they could get the power going since it was so cold. He said it didn't come back on until about 10:00 and it took him forever to get his house warm.

You would think with the huge increase in electric bills they could atleast keep things running the way they should or give me some kind of discount since I had to run my heating unit so hard just to heat the house back up to where it was and I'm sure that cost a arm and a leg.

Yeah, the timing could't have been better. Of course I kind of expected to happen since the power goes off here if there is any kind of inclement weather. I heard that a line burnt into because of a power overload with everyone trying to stay warm. I still don't know why they couldn't have been more prepaired for something like this since I thought it might happen.

I had a portable ventlees wall heater hooked up to a 20lb propane tank so it was bearable after getting it going and I'm with you (did I just say that?) on the stinch they put out, pweee .

Oh yeah, I think my lineman my have been some Bush crony that didn't know what he was doing, heard a line was down and headed to the grocery store to see how many people in line had fallen.

Global warming is real...granted it sure as heck don't seem like it considering the record low's being set, but global warming is real and it is happening. It's been going on since the ice age.

I feel for you folks without power. I've never experienced a loss of power in the winter time but I'll tell you what happens at my house. The most bizarre thing in the world, it could be the most beautiful late spring day, not a cloud in the sky, people grilling out, washing their cars, etc and all of a sudden the power goes out for no good reason. This seems to happen fairly frequently in my neighborhood. I blame it on LG & E not increasing the size of the service they have feeding the neighborhood, this is just my guess. I figured all of the electronic appliances we have now days has added more to the load than what we realize. Heck if I know.

Dang it's cold on this saturday morning but a fair warmup is on the way next week, or so I've heard anyway.

Impossible.... you say the power was off for how long? Dem for sure! He had to call a meeting and check the polls to see who derserved power first. Of course being Union he had his break and coffee.
Seems like you make to much money, so they put power on for the Immigrants, homeless, down and out, bottom feeding Liberals and then you. Don't you feel good that your getting the practice of giving?
