New 75 Billion Housing Bailout Plan

Anyone feel left out? Anyone not spend beyond their means and still live well and can afford to pay their bills? Anyone not buy a new car, truck or boat because you knew it was wrong financially? Anyone wondering when we stopped rewarding doing things right instead of bailing out things that go wrong?
I would love to refinance my home at 2-3% on a 15 year fixed loan. Why not I'm good for it!
I'm pulling for Barry to see the light and help the people who are responsible enough to manage their money and who knows some might spend some of that new found money.

we bought our first house 6 years ago and up until march of 07 i hadnt missed or been late on a payment. still have not missed but have been a few days late in the last several months. the first time i was three days late and you would have thought i murdered some one. i got three phone calls in one day regarding the issue. but my wife was laid-off , gas was 4.25 a gallon , i drive 58 miles to and from work a day and have a 2 1/2 year old son that has to eat. i want my own bailout!!!!! but life goes on and im sure we will make it through and see better times hopefully.

Where's mine, I want mine also....Oh wait, I pay my bills on time and have made sound and wise decisions regarding my spending ways...So I'm flat out of luck....Now on the other hand...I could stop paying my house payments for a few months and get some real nice $$$$ for doing it..... Sounds like the way to go...( NOT ).....

Welcome to the new Democratic liberal ways boys. It's called if you got extra for being smart we are going to take it away from you and sing Coombaya while we give it to illegal aliens, deadbeats that won't work and line our pockets to give to the Unions and special interest groups that got us in office. After all we promised them we would take care of them after we got in office using all their millions of contributions to get in therefore we have to pay them back for heavan's sake. Barry is a modern day Robin Hood and his band of liberal idiot Democrats are backing him 110%. Get use to it boy's it's gonna get ALOT worse before it gets better, if it ever does.....

I swear I can just look at Nancy Pelosi now and get physically ill. She to me is a human laxitive, cause everytime I even hear her voice I need to go take a ....

Wife and I own a modest house whose mortgage payment is only about 14% of our take home pay.

Both of our cars are at least 8 years old and have been paid off for years.

I do not own a boat because I haven't saved up the cash to buy one yet.

We don't owe a single dime on credit cards.

I guess I should have gotten behind a couple of mortgage payments, bought a boat and took my bailout money to the bank....?

Just got an idea, if they are using mine and your tax dollars to help out the auto industry, then since we are paying for it should'nt we get a new car since I have already paid for it? Also how about a 1% mortage rate. mine is 5.75 now but if I could get it lowered I could help out the boat industry, but I have NOT missedd or been late on one payment in the 7 yrs I have owned my home, I have been resposible but I am getting punished for it. it seems. Maybe I should be arttilfically implanted with 8 babies so I can get help.I want my money back.

I want you to get your money back as well! We should not be held totally responsible for Gubment goofs, stupid bank lending practices, losers who have the entitlement attitude and crooked Politicians. It's wrong and we all know it.

I'm sick of it but with Barry and his Liberal agenda we are gonna get more. If these Libs can pass a MEGA SPENDING BILL into law without reading it what reason do we have to believe they actually care about us working class folks? Oops, my bad I do get $400 spread over a year so I can do my part! Whew!... thought I was left oput for a second there!

Hey what do you suppose will happen once the Dems are voted out of power? Will the GOP or someone else (I pray for someone else) ever be able to stop or terminate all the new Welfare programs? Remember once they are in place it takes an act of Congress to stop it! (pun intended)

I know this isn't going to make you feel a lot better but there are a few things that should/could help the responsible home owner.

The biggest benifit is it helps protect your homes value by not letting other homes in your neighborhood go into forclosure which drives down the value of all homes in the area. If a couple homes in a neighborhood go into forclosure your homes value is going to take a major hit. Yes I know your not getting something paid for like the person who's home is being forclosed on and you shouldn't have to worry about your homes value decreasing because someone can't pay for theirs but it is what it is and this is where were at.

You should be able to refinance your home at a better rate, will know more about this March 4th (I think that's the date)

I thought I heard something about a $1000 tax credit/rebate or something like that for people who were making their payments on time. Don't quote me on this one though, could be completley false, just thought that's what I heard once.

Re: New 75 Billion Housing Bailout Plan

You know you guys are right on this one.Mykids? both are miffed by this, and wonsder why I'm not upset. My grand parents were immigrants, they lost their first home in the depression, there was no hope. Had an uncle worked for the WPA, my mother used to stand in line for food hand outs with her sisters. They lived through it, and my mom was frugal with a capitol F. Just one aunt left now. They lived through rationing through WW11, watched their sons[grand parents] fight in the pacific, europe, and a few came home wounded.I have never needed, wanted yes. Been broke several times. And heading there again maybe. Had two beloveded wives die before my eyes. So why should I be upset by this bail out? I dont have a mortgage, or a job to loose, and life is to short to worry about things I didn't cause, and cant fix.Like I told my son who is raising hell about the guys getting free money, life isn't always fair, its not always easy, and there are things that are going to happen to you that you cant control. Or for see.
