    Green River Lake Conditions

One great big windy mud puddle today. Water temp 42. No bites so no fish. Didn't even see a fish today. Asked several others loading their boats said they struck out too. I'm sure somebody out there caught fish today the several ramps I saw were full. So if anyone caught fish at GRL today please pm me some ideas. I did however have fun boating.

Bank fishing by the Green River Marina produced numerous musky in the few hours we were there. There were several people throwing all kinds of crankbaits and we saw 7-10 hookups. It seems they were all stacked up back in that cove for a little while but the changing weather patterns will likely change that as there is a storm blowing in.

They were all big by my standards. First musky I had ever seen. I saw a few broken lines after hooking fish and some that had to weigh 10-20 lbs. It was unreal to see that many musky being caught in that short amount of time.

Hooked up with one nice musky on the quarry flats. Came unpinned on the way to the boat. I thought about hitting the pay lake to get out of the weather but called it quits instead...sounds like I made a mistake.

Pre fished Sat for a T on Sun started fishin the main lake points in the mud with no luck. Decided to run all the way up to to river. Water was alot clearer started to catch a couple and shake some off. Then went home Sun spent all day way up in the river. Me and my partner caught about 2 limits weighed in with a little over 10#, 11# took first. All mine came off a Jig. Good luck hope this helps.

Shawn is being VERY KIND, when he said "me and my partner"...lol I WAS his partner and that man can FISH!! We went to the clear water, as he mentioned, as did over half the field but we were the only ones ("we" meaning mostly Shawn who landed that kind of weight out of there. I really believe the key to our success was that we fished SLOW and concentrate on a certain area he had picked out from Sat. The people I saw moving a bunch were the ones who did not go quite as big on the scales. I am pretty confident, if we had to do it all over, we would use the same approach at this point on this body of water. I REALLY enjoyed fishing this one, but when he says "jig", he means JIG and not ANYTHING else. I talked to a few others after and that is what most said worked and everything else we/they tried seemed to only produce "shorties". Good luck.

I did have fun!! The most important thing to me IS to have fun and hopefully spread the word about the "Returning Hero's Home and the Army Bass anglers". I WILL be hitting you up on one of the places you mentioned you fished a bunch in a little while though, as I have to fish that one at least 7 times this year in various trails. Thanks for the post and I look forward to hitting the water with you when I get the new boat here in a couple weeks. Thanks brother and talk to you soon.

    Re: Green River Lake Conditions

cra97 you are wrong about the only one that caught them up the river cause 1,2,and 4th place came from up there.just stating facts and not blowing smoke. So there was at least 2 more boats that caught more than you up there since you finished 3rd.
