I used to do this for a living. Kick him the extra $........it will be worth it in the long run provided that he performs acceptable work.$100 is fair, However if this guy is some one you trust, did a good job, why not kick him some extra? (say $20 -30) Reason being he'll remember and good chance you can bend his ear once and a while and just may get you to the front of the line next time you have a problem.![]()
I will kick in an extra $25 as he does always answer his phone even on Sundays and offers "free advice" on my motors!

I need the same for my boat, but don't want to pay an un-holy per hour rate. I even have the part (impeller) but scared to do it myself.
Anyone around Lexington who can do this for a fair price?
PS: I was once told you should change out the impeller once every 1-2 years. I have a 1993 Evinrude 150 and I've yet to do it.

There is a good video on youtube that shows you how to change the impeller. I followed it and had no problems. It is a bit easier with two people.
