Keep the plastics in the bag?

Hey fellas! Headed out to KY/Barkley for the weekend to fish in the USA Bassin Classic and getting my arsenal of baits together.

Just wondering your opinion: When it comes to plastics, do you think it is best to leave them in their bag (scented and non-scented)? I want to try to put all my plastics in a couple of trays to make it easier to pack without having to buy a bunch of binders with zip-lock sleeves to stuff my plastics in.

What are your thoughts about taking them out and putting them in trays? Or should I just leave them in the bags they are sold in?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance for your advice.

I like to keep all my plastics in the bags. I dont like putting them in trays because they get stuck to each other and tend to melt on me in the summer months. Plus, its just easier for me to keep track of my inventory. I keep all my plastics in there bags then put all my bags in a clear bag so I can see whats in it. I think the bags are made by a company named duncan bags. If i find there website I'll post it on here for you.

I keepem in the original package and organize all lizards, worms, finesse, hogs and put em in a gallon size ziplock bag. Pretty easy too keep up with

I put my high use plastics in trays because its easier for me to pop the top than to go thru all those bags.But I do take the trays out of the boat when I get home.

Pretty cool site. I keep my bulk packs in the ziplock bags but they get ripped and the zippers/slides wear out. These look more durable than that.

I do keep my favorite plastics under the top clear lid of my hard tackle box...mainly tubes.

I keep mine in there original bag, and in a worm binder, I would say if you trying to win money go with what ever is faster to change baits and not worry about a 5 bag of worms.

Keep em in plastic, add some raw shrimp, 2-3 pieces, to build in scent. Works great!

I use to put stuff in the boxes for specific trips, but it a hassal and would warp the box lid and plastic lose color and scent because they dried out. I to use zip lock bags. One lizard bags gallon size with all the lizard bags in them, etc for creatures, finnese worms, 10" worms etc. etc. I still sort for trips think where, what time of year, etc. Hope this helps.

If you have room in your boat (one extra storage box), what I did is get a two plastic tubs - the width of a ziploc storage bag. I leave all of my plastics in the original bags - unless bulk. And place /organize each style (worms, lizzards, brush hogs, etc) in a large ziploc storage (freezer are a little thicker, and I use the standard bag and not the zips). I can arrange these full bags in the tubs- like a file cabinet. I take a peice of duct tape and make a tab/tag on the top and label it, I can see from looking at the top, and pull that bag out. I fish, mainly with plastics, so I use a bunch - and this has saved a bunch of time on the water, and easy to prepare for a trip.

But I think it takes up less space to keep them in the bag, and organize them into bags than to place them in boxes - and a lot less hassle too.

I keep them in the bag. I made the mistake once of putting them in containers and the colors ran together in just one day. Being on the lake and the sun scorched them. I now put them on a big key chain. Its got a hole in top of the bag. cheap way to make space.
