Every pond I've been to recently the bass are bedding.
For me I love throwing a worm for a farm pond situation...I just read an article recently in FLW Outdoors where this guy was saying he likes throwing a shorter worm, says he doesn't miss as many fish by throwing a shorter worm. As for me...I like the Zoom Mag II's with a 4/0 EWG hook, no weight, just the hook...all the usual colors of Junebug, Pumpkin, Motor Oil, etc...I've had a blast at the farm pond with this set up, not sure what you have in your box but you might consider the Mag II's, they're about 9" long or so.
Throw a tube or weightless Yum Dinger. Are you hitting this pond to much? If it's small and your hitting it everyday the place might need a break?
Black on Black rooster tail... Guarantee you catch SOMETHING.... A bitsy bug jig in black and blue with a watermelon candy trailer also seems to do the trick if they have lock jaw... Hope someone on here can help you out because you have quite a bit to try now...
Don does make a good pont here. Pond fish will get tuned to certain baits if they are hit with them all the time. Sometimes you have to throw them a curve ball and sometimes jsut like DJD said you just have to give'em a break. All that said though I'll bet the bedding is your main problem, they got baby making on their mind.
First time i fished these 2 ponds this year, thanks for the tips, and yeah the spawning is what is killing me i think...
4" c-rigged watermelonseed lizard. Never fails in a creek or pond.Well i mostly fish farm ponds and here lately i cant get many bights, the bight was on fire over the past month or so but its all of a sudden stopped, went yesterday and caught 3 under 10inches, went today and caught 2 about a 1lb or so, Ive threw everything in my box and i gotta big box, whats going on, and Ive only seen 2 fish on the bed so idk, i need help
On a small pond a chartreuse hand grenade can be deadly
