Burt, as with any lure you want to imitate the forage that your lure most resembles. As most of your jigs are made to look like crawfish, that is what you want invision. Surely as a kid you played with crawdads in a creek, remember how they moved. When they weren't running for their lives they just crawled aimlessly across the bottom, but when scared they darted in quick snaps. Now it is up to you to figure out what the bass want, the slow drag or a few quick snaps and a flutter to the bottom. Never the less as they say MATCH THE HATCH. As far as brands the choices are endless, try a few and pick the one YOU like best, personally I like War Eagle.
Heres a very nice thread that got started a couple months back on jigs, lots of info here from just about everyone on the board http://fishin.com/forums2/showthread...highlight=Jigs
Just use regular curley tails plastic grubs from 1 inch to 3 1/2 inches long and 1/8 to 1/2 round head jigs you'll need an assortment of colors and sizes. For the price of 4 or 5 five good crankbaits you can be well equipted for jig fishing. Just about everything that swims will hit a jig. Expect to lose several each trip to hangups but are cheap to replace. green and white and yellow are good colors to start with.
Thanks that had A LOT of good info. I take it that I should get some stuff from cumberland pro!Heres a very nice thread that got started a couple months back on jigs, lots of info here from just about everyone on the board http://fishin.com/forums2/showthread...highlight=Jigs
