136 year to vote in a "Democrat" What? Congress, Senate, President, Governor, Mayor?

There have been a total of 10 Democratic Presidents elected since 1893 with Wilson serving 4 terms. As for the Congress and others, it has not been a purely Republican Congress or Senate for 136 years, if it had been there would be no reason to vote on bills, they would just pass everything that rolled across their desk. Not all Republican Congressmen and Senators are 136 years old or older, so there had to have been a lot of Democrats elected within the past 136 years.

Did you consider that there are also State Representatives and Senators? You need to be more explicit before you start doing political cartwheels.

JUST MY OPINION BUT HAVE TOO MANY OTHER THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT TO THINK ABOUT USELESS POLITICIANS IN WASHINGTON. PERSONALLY, I DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD BE ELEGIBLE FOR ANY POLITICAL OFFICE UNTIL YOU HAVE WORKED IN A REAL JOB MAKING A REAL PAYCHECK LIVING PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS, THEN YOU WILL REALLY KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN AMERICA TODAY AND WILL HAVE A BETTER INSIGHT TO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. THESE MORANS WHO ARE LIFELONG POLITICIANS THAT HAVE NEVER HELD A REAL JOB OR LIVED PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IS LIKE TO BE MIDDLE CLASS, LOWER CLASS OR ANY CLASS EXCEPT THE KIND THEY ARE IN TAKING HANDOUTS, MONEY UNDER THE TABLE AND THEIR "PAY" THAT IS FROM TAXPAYERS IN THE FIRST PLACE. PUT SOME OF THESE GUYS IN CONGRESS AND THE HOUSE IN OUR SHOES FOR ONE MONTH AND THESE GUYS WOULD NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. PAY THIS BILL, HOLD THAT BILL, CAN'T GO FISHING THAT EXTRA COUPLE OF DAYS BECAUSE OF THE MONEY, LOOK FOR THIS ON SALE, BUY THAT ON SALE, DON'T BUY THAT BECAUSE CHRISTMAS IS COMING UP OR THE ELECTRIC BILL IS DUE, ARE YOU KIDDING ME, MORANS ALL OF THEM FROM THE GUY THAT IS OUT TRYING TO RECRUIT VOTES FOR SOME PUBLIC OFFICE TO THE SENATORS AND CONGRESSMEN TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND EVERYWHERE IN BETWEEN. HAVE NEVER VOTED, WILL NEVER VOTE AND CONTINUE TO BEND OVER AND TAKE IT WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE BECAUSE NOTHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT. AS LONG AS MONEY IS INVOLVED, GREED IS INVOLVED AND WHEN GREED IS INVOLVED WHEN IS ENOUGH AN ENOUGH. AS LONG AS BIG CORPORATE, LITTLE CORPORATE, AND ALL CORPORATE IN BETWEEN ARE "SPONSORING" OUR "PUBLICLY ELECTED OFFICIALS" WITH ALL THEIR "DONATIONS" THEN MONEY IS INVOLVED AND SO WILL GREED. IF I HAD ANOTHER $200 IN MY WALLET, I WOULD WANT ANOTHER $200, IF I CATCH A 6 POUNDER THEN I WOULD WANT A 7 POUNDER, IF I CATCH 100 TODAY THEN I WANT 101 TOMORROW, GREED IS EVERYWHERE. I CAN TAKE IT, SO BRING ON ALL THE COMMENTS AGAINST WHAT I SAY BECAUSE I KNOW THEY ARE COMING BUT JUST REMEMBER YOUR FREEDOM TO VOTE IS MY SAME FREEDOM TO NOT VOTE.
WOW! Im glad our founding fathers didnt think like you! I respect your oppinion but to be satisfied with whatever politicians throw at you, well I cant accept that. I got to reread what you said cause I aint believing it.

I don't follow politics and NEVER will but to hear my dad, uncle and others in my family that do talk about it don't have enough brain cells left to follow these idiots. If you TRULY wanted to make it a Democracy where votes counted then start in the House and Congress, get rid of the party lines, make the votes 100% blind, as to nobody will be criticized for voting yes or no and then lets see what happens. GREED and PEER PRESSURE, add those 2 together and what do you get, "Squeeky wheel gets the grease, He who yells the loudest gets the attention", seem to me if I was in Congress or the House and I was elected "by the people for the people" then I need to vote to the best interest of "the people". Just because I am a Democrat and "Bob" is a Democrat and "Bob" tells me to vote a certain way, does not mean I have to vote this way but because "Bob" will yell the loudest and everyone will know that I voted differently from my "Party" then I will go along with the crowd and do what my "Party" wants but not necessarily is what is right for "the people". There should be 50 different opinions when they bring a topic to the floor for a vote and all of these should all be heard and then let everyone vote to however they want to on the topic privately to however they feel is best for "the people that elected them to office". Too much greed, peer pressure, corporate pressure, ....... and others that sway the votes of the people that were elected to do what is best for the people. Done with this topic for me, you all can have the rest.
Next time on your way to dale hollow, when you drive across wolf creek dam, remember, represenatives stuck their neck out to get that dam and nice scenic road you drive on paid by all of us. I guess you just think the road is supposed to be there. Someone has to make the decisions and Its left to the congress. Best form of government in the world. VOTE!

Little late to the dance, but SSA, Medicare/Medicaid are broke and failing, so bad examples. Farm subsudsies are a tremendous waste of money in this day of the mega farm. Nasa hardly, I would peaked in the 60's when Neil stepped on the moon, shuttle is iffy, hubble grant you that, but cost at least 10X budget, oops, bad optics... but imagine if it were paid with tax dollars but managed/delivering on a commercial schedule? And finally, I would argue energy is better served in the private sector. Unless I missed something LED's/TV's weren't invented by Al Gore, these were private sector, like the light bulb, IC engine, micro chip, LCD, fiber optics. Great examples of innovation are Cisco, Intell, MS, Google. Just about every govt program, while they mean well, typically lead to the "laws of unintended consequence" ... Welfare leads to unemployment, govt housing was shown lead to social demise (aka the projects), fair housing act lead to massive foreclosures....Just my 3 cents...

Welcome! Sounds like some good points to me!

The "new t.v.s" ole slipped was talking about were just on the news and it was about how much energy they draw not how low their draw was. They will be regulated to draw less since places like California can't handle the energy draw of these "new t.v.'s"....were these the same ones you were talking about slipped?
